Chapter Four

Don't get Cocky!

After we piled in, the ship quickly moved to orbit, I reached the cockpit with the others, finding a man, standing next to the console, having one hand on the controls, clearly waiting for someone to enter.

"Welcome aboard the Millennium Falcon kids! Now, Dawn take the controls so I can go fuck some shit up!" The man shouted, Dawn running in and grabbing the ships controls, The man ran past me and towards a ladder, climbing down, Zade smiled.

"Dibs!" he shouted As he ran over to the ladder as well, only instead, he climbed up. 

"Who is this guy?" I asked to Dawn and Ex, both assuming positions on the ship.

"Strap in Layla" Ex answered clicking a few buttons on the console. I followed Ex's instructions and did just that, sitting down in the seat behind him and tightening the seat-belts.

"You doing alright back there Cyblow?" Ex asked over a comm device.

"Oh yeah baby blue, locked and loaded, say, what'cha think of my entrance? Do I make your top ten saves list?" The main replied over the comm device, his voice being heard through the cockpits speaker.

Ex smirked. 

"Yeah Cyblow, thanks for that" Ex replied. suddenly a alarm started going off, on a holo-radar in front of Dawn, eight dots appeared

"We got incoming Comet Force Ships! Zade, Cyblow, get ready on those cannons" Dawn spoke clicking a few buttons, the alarm shutting off.

The entire ship shook as we just took a shot.

"Shit!" Dawn shouted.

"What?" I asked.

"We just lost horizontal control, Cyblow, Zade why don't I hear you guys shooting!" Dawn shouted, still trying to pilot the ship.

"These controls are right out of the seventies Dawn I'm doing my best!" Cyblow shouted.

I could hear the massive cannons from the top and bottom of the ship, as Zade and Cyblow were firing them off.

The entire ship swayed again, as we were hit. 

"Dawn!" Zade shouted over the comm device. "I hit the thing, but it has a shield! Damn blaster just bounced off!"

"That sure didn't happen in the New Hope!" I heard Cyblow shout.

"Um, they must have a weak point-" Dawn started thinking to herself.

Instantly Justin's training came back to me, I remember him reading a manual on the Comet Force's aircraft. I grabbed the headset right off of Ex's head and spoke into it.

"Listen to me carefully, there spacecrafts are designed with a force field, however they have a weak point on the edge of it's left wing, this will disable the shield, and also disable the primary movement controls, meaning that you don't have to kill the pilots" I explained. I wasn't ready to witness people being slaughtered like this, I mean sure we killed those Venus guards pretty brutally, but these were Comet Force. High ranking soldiers that should die fighting someone with actual villainous intent. Plus killing these guys would mean we'd have the entire Comet Force out looking to kill us, not something I wanted.

"Sounds good to me" Zade spoke.

"YAH WOOOO!" I heard Cyblow shout over his radio instantly. I looked out the window to see a Comet Force ship be disabled, smoking and spinning around rapidly, but the pilot still intact.

"Tip worked kid, Zade let's finish these guys!" Cyblow shouted. Unloading on several more ships.

"Damn these guys are fast" Zade mumbled, we got hit again this one really shook us.
