As the elevator descends slowly down the narrow corridors, the tension stiffens amongst the ten men in orange jumpsuits. Prisoners, convicts, D-Class personnel. Forced against their will, some would argue the fate that lied below them was more acceptable than being given electrocution or lethal injection. Even if this was practically the same, but far worse than what anyone could imagine.
“Welcome new D-Class arrivals!”
A sudden woman’s voice sounded off over the intercom, startling a few of the men. The elevator was taking it’s cool time, dragging out, making the ten inmates gather up the stiffening aura around each other. By accident or by intention, it wasn’t a joking manner. The dull lights over them were flickering every few seconds, it could be just a mechanical issue.
“We’d like to apologise on putting you each through that troubling event earlier today! You see, The Church of the Broken God and us don’t see eye to eye, but they do make good soldiers to get the job done. Especially to draw out the attention of the SCP Foundation… We are the same group, just secretive from the Foundation. We would really appreciate it if we can keep it that way… Any ways!”
Crazy, full of chuckles and deception. Her voice over the intercom is only causing more striffles in the hearts of these men. The sounds of gulping, the smell of sweat consumed over the adrenaline pumping brutes.
Death’s row, secret in the face of its own organization, clear indications that whatever they're doing down below isn’t how the Foundation truly operates.
“So let's get started, shall we? Introduction! SCP, Secure, Contain, Protect. We serve, well, they serve to protect humanity from abnormalities. Don’t get us wrong here, we are doing the same, I’ll explain! We house an Euclid class anomaly, and don’t worry, she is contained by our personal soldiers, defensive systems and more! We just possess little knowledge from after years of torture and abuse… Did I say that out? Well it doesn’t matter, each of you will be helping us grasp a better understanding, meaning most of you will die. Better up front now, yep, possibly meaningless and pointless deaths, but hey, it's for a cause!”
Blunt and cold, enthusiasm behind her devilish remarks, even if it’s the truth. Adrenaline pumping harshly in the men during the announcer’s slight pause. The scenery, she was doing this on purpose. A real kick in the guts, just one wrong move or sudden noise amongst them, and the ties might just snap.
“Since I’m a nice lady, I’ll fill each of you in. Euclid Class, she goes by the name Skylar Grace, the subject is only sixteen years old. Insanity, regeneration and acidic, those three are her main abilities from what we understand so far. Some parts she can’t heal over, like the large gash in her arm, but don’t be fouled as it’s her intention on keeping it open. The last D-Class member that was thrown in her cell, he lost complete control of his mind and began having a feast in the open wound. That’s right, the skin on his face, teeth and eyes were dissolving away as she watched him trying to eat through the wound. Eventually he consumed so much before dying off that his insides began falling out burning through his clothes. Autopsy showed his organs being liquified all the way down to the belly button, where the breach was made, even the lungs didn’t survive. Overall, don’t be fouled by her appearance or desperate acts, she takes pure pleasure in killing her victims.”
“Then why the hell send us immediately to our graves, far worse than the regular death sentence!”
“What he said! I sure as hell didn’t sign up for this bullshit!”
Shouting, the brink of chaos erupts mildly within the narrow space. The clashing of strong flesh against steel walls and doors. Even over the key panel, locked away under a metal sheet to prevent anyone pressing buttons without proper authorization. Their mild conflict quickly escalates to a full blown riot against the elevator, with only two or three standing back. Unrecognizable horror came over their faces as they watched the other attempt to pointlessly bash their way free.
“She said they have their own personal soldiers… With this racket, surely they would be waiting just outside those doors…”
Mumbled softly, a tall lengthy fellow with blond hair muttered under his breath. None of the rioters heard what he had spoken, but for the other two that weren’t making any type of noise heard it. Loud and clear.
“Skylar Grace’s insanity is… On a serious note, eheh… Is uncontainable, and simply cycles around this base. New employees are forced in our corridors every few months as it gets too much… Those that remain, which are the heads of this facility, well… Let’s just say, they are a real blast!”
After the next few punches collide on the doors, the sounds of gears shifting echoed in the space. The doors opened up from the center, beams of LED shine blindingly at the inmates followed by multiple blasts. Gun fire. The inmates were brought down to the ground by a quick glaze of tranquilizers. Groans and moans, the men that stood over the crew watched as they each finally settled down.
“You see, I told you. They are a real blast.”
Chuckles crossed over from behind the two soldiers, dressed head to toe in full military gear with a thick layer of armour plating on their chests. A woman stood behind them, the bright anonymous lighting reflecting over her glasses. Sinister, looking down at them as nothing more than insects.
“Oh gosh, get them the hell out of here. Talk about body odor, why the hell do we always get the beefy jock heads. Not like Skylar cares, her madness in close range only makes these tests much… Well”
She looked over at the officers, clamping her hands over her own cheek. Cheek grin staring at the both of them.
“Top secret stuff that you two can’t know! Hehe… Mind you both, I expect these boys prepped up and ready for work! You know how she gets, if her meal… Victim… Whatever, just do what I say!”
Her voice echoed out from the elevator. She obviously didn’t turn off her microphone. Intentional or forgetful, it still works in her favor of being heard amongst the crew. Covering her nose with one hand, swattering the foul air with the other. She turned around, leaving the two soldiers to get to work. They weren’t alone though, eventually help came. Eventually.
