Tonight, was Winterfest. You always went with Jason and danced with any girl you wanted to. This time was pretty much going to be the same, except Jason had Y/n. That didn't bother you much. You went into Jason's room for advice on what to wear. You saw Jason changing into his tuxedo.

You: Hey Jay?

Jason: Yea?

You: Do you think I should go with the stripped tie or the red one?

Jason: You should definitely go with stripped

Jason asked you for help with his aqua blue bow tie. You helped him.

You: So, Y/n huh?

Jason: Yup, he responded with excitement

You watched as he finishes getting ready.

You: You look great Jay

Jason: Thanks Joe

He headed out the front door and you heard him drive away in his WRX. You finished getting ready. You slipped some alcohol into a flask and put it in your pockets. You then took the family truck and drove to Winterfest by yourself. When you walked into school, it felt weird since it was always you and Jason. When you walked through the gymnasium doors, you already saw Jason slow dancing with Y/n in the center of the dance floor. They looked so happy. You saw Y/n in Jason's arms. They looked beautiful. You grabbed a drink and watched them. You were jealous. You wanted that. You wanted Y/n. You saw Jason leave. This was your chance. You got up and walked towards Y/n.

You: Hey Y/n

Y/n: Hey Joe

You began talking with her. You then told a couple of jokes. She laughed. Her smile and laugh were so beautiful. You got her a drink. You reached out your hand and grabbed hers. You looked at her and asked her for a dance. You didn't know if she hesitated or if your nervousness made that moment seem longer than it actually was. She then pulled her arm away from yours.

Y/n: I'm sorry Joe, but I'm with Jason. I can't do that to him

You: No, right, I get it. I'm sorry

You walked away in embarrassment. You were hurt. You hoped Y/n didn't tell Jason. You took a seat and reached for your flask. You bottomed it in a single shot. You watched as Jason danced with Y/n for the rest of the night.
