Spy was sitting on the couch in front of the TV, reading a book with a cup of wine in his hand, trying to relax after the long day of battle. It was nearly 11pm, and everyone was beginning to get ready for bed, needing to get some sleep for tomorrow’s battle. Spy watched as everybody around him walked around in their pajamas, having a late night snack before they slept or saying goodnight to each other. As much as Spy wanted to join everybody and go to sleep, he found himself unable to sleep until way early in the morning, awake thinking about that horrible “premonition” or whatever it was that he had back at the theater.

As he sat there reading his book, Spy looked up to see Zhanna and Engineer talking, both with worried looks on their faces. Wondering why, he put his book and wine down on the table in front of him, then stood up and walked over to them.

“What seems to be the matter?” Spy asked them.

Engineer looked up at Spy, shaking his head.

“Soldier still hasn’t come back.” He said. “He’s been gone almost 5 hours.”

“What did he go out to do?”

“To take picture of eagle he wanted to show us.” Zhanna replied.

“Have you asked Demoman if he knows anything?” Spy questioned.

“He’s been passed out ever since we got back from battle.” Engie said. “So he wouldn't know.”

“We should go looking for him.” Zhanna said. “He could not have gone fa-”

Zhanna was cut off by the phone ringing. Engineer walked over to the phone, picking it up and placing it against his ear. Spy and Zhanna watched as he talked to the other end, first looking happy, before changing to a more vacant expression. He thanked the other person, placed the phone down, and turned towards Zhanna and Spy, who were waiting for him to say something.

“We should go.” Engineer said, before grabbing his keys and heading into the garage.

Zhanna looked down at Spy, confusion on her face, before following after Engie. Spy decided to come with, figuring Engineer meant for him to come as well. The three of them got into Engie’s truck, before he pulled out of the garage and drove off.

As they drove around Tuefort, Spy looked outside of his window. He looked closely at one of the signs they drove past. He could barely read it, barely making out the word “soldier” before it disappeared behind them. He didn’t have a good feeling about any of this.

When the truck finally stopped. Spy realized they were at the Tuefort river. Confusion struck him as he looked at the police cars and ambulance near the river bank. He waited for Zhanna to get out of the car, and the two of them followed Engie, who seemed to be headed towards where the mayor was standing. The three of them stopped in front of the mayor, who turned around to face them.

“Is he really…” Engie began, not wanting to finish his sentence.

“One of the residents found him a little less than an hour ago.” The mayor responded. “He was floating along the river, his face and eyes were scratched up and covered in blood.”

Spy was shocked as he fully took in what they meant. He looked at Engie, who managed to keep his composure, while Zhanna looked back and forth at the two men.

“What do you mean?” Zhanna asked, confused as to what was going on. “Where is my Soldier?”

The mayor started walking over to the ambulance to talk to the paramedics, leaving the three of them standing there. Engie sighed, shaking his head, before facing Zhanna.
