"Did I hear this right, Appa?" asked Jungjae-Hwa. She hardly believed what Appa mentioned back there. The entire marriage proposal that made her burst throughout the entire dinner, her mother's sudden breakdown in Appa's arms, the pregnancy news and now this.

"Are you sure?!" asked the young girl again. Just to be sure, because Appa was no longer serious. He was even smiling as if nothing happened.

"Yes, Jae. There never was," replied Father Bae calmly. Now hard for the girl to let this sink in.

"Please don't play with me like that, Appa," muttered Jungjae-Hwa. "I was serious when I argued with you downstairs."

"I'm sorry for causing tension on you, my dear," apologized Father Bae again. "I had to do it because it was my plan to achieve a goal."

Jungjae-Hwa blinked. What was that goal he wanted to achieve?

"–So. . . The proposal during dinner was just an act?" added Jungkook. "It was never true at all?"

Even Jimin was dumbfounded by this sudden turn of tables. What was the goal? Why was this proposal an act? For what reason? But before Father Bae could speak and explain to them, another female voice suddenly spoke behind him.

"Yes, Jungkook-ah. Jungjae-Hwa. Appa was right. There was no marriage proposal at all."

–Everybody turned to look with a start at Lady Young-Mi who was now back to consciousness on the bed. The light of the house was smiling warmly at them.

"Appa never lied to you," she said.

"Eomma!" said Jungkook and Jungjae-Hwa in unison. Father Bae got up from his chair and hurried over to his wife's side.

"Dangshin– How are you feeling now?"

Jimin and Jungkook stood up and walked over to the foot of the bed, watching as Father Bae held his wife's hand.

"–You don't know how panicked we were when you dropped on me like that," he muttered in a usual low, soft voice. "All the boys and Jae-Jae hurried over to you and I've never seen PD-nim so high alert before."

"Did you carry me all the way here by yourself?" asked Lady Young-Mi with a smirk, quirking her eyebrow up.

"Ah, Eommaa– don't tease me like that," moaned her husband. "I wish I did but I didn't– you would understand how I'd feel when I saw you pale as death in my arms. You were sweating, cold as ice, and your lips were dry too. All the emergency first aid I could have done to attend to your needs were out. I was so nervous my mind was completely blacked out. I didn't know what to do–"

Lady Young-Mi chuckled. "Ah– I see. . . I thought you didn't want to carry me because I'm starting to grow heavy now with our child."

"Yah Ma– I was scared. . . I could have carried you alone and not let the others do it for me if I felt 'normal'. I couldn't stay calm. And I panicked so much that I also feared for my blood sugar–"
