Chapter 2

"Okay Hermione,now spill everything out." Ginny said with a firm tone as she sat down on her bed in the dorm that Ginny and Hermione shared.

"Okay,okay."

"So,at the great hall," she started.

"He was staring at me,and I looked back at him then he smiled at me.His smile is so warm and comforting for me.Then,I went to the library.It seems, he was following me.And then we had a chat." she continued.

"And what exactly was in that conversation?" Ginny raised an eyebrow demanding her friend to continue to talk.

"He told me that he was sorry for everything and he wanted to be friends.He sound so sincere,and I basically accepted his apology and we're friends." Hermione said while laying down on her bed and stare at the ceiling.

"That's it?"

"No,he also asked me to see him at the astronomy tower for some friend time."

"He what?!"

"Calm down,Gin.It's just a friend time."

"Okay,fine." the red head sighed.

"Attention students." headmistress McGonagall stood up at the podium.

"Usually on mornings,I do not have announcements,but in this case I have." she continued.

"I have decided that for this week,we are going to pick a partner for you to study with through every lesson you take.You will sit together in class and study together.Your partners will be from a different house from your year.Since the original seventh year students are retaking their studies,they will be in the same year as the original sixth year students.So in conclusion,sixth year students will be the same year with the seventh year students."

"Hermione,we're on the same year!" Ginny squealed in excitement.

"There's a possible chance we will be partners."

"I already picked your partners and you may go to your class with your partner.And also,if the teacher in your current class wanted a different partner,the teacher may change your partner.But,the partner picked by other teachers except for myself is only temporary and it is only used in that lesson from that day.For example,Professor Flitwick changed your partner.And your partner is only used for charms on that day.So,for the next time you have charms,you will not use that temporary partner.Have I made myself clear?" the old witch asked and got nods as an answer.

"Good.Your partners are on this board,please quickly find your name and go to your partner and head straight to class." she summoned boards with names listed on it.

"Hermione,I didn't get you." she said with a frown.

"It's okay."

Hermione searched for her name glancing through a board to another.

She finally found her name.

Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy.

'Maybe it wouldn't be that bad.' she thought.

She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to see a blonde boy smiling down at her which she returned the smile gladly.

"Let's go to class." he said pulling her away from the crowd.

"Let's go to herbology first."

"Sure."

They headed to the greenhouse for their herbology class.On their way there,they talked about random things;

"You know,that punch was really good.I never felt better." Hermione stifled a laugh.

"That made me realise that I shouldn't mess with you." he chuckled.

"Hey,don't forget that friend time I told you yesterday.You're coming right?"

"Of course I'll go." she replied as they got in to their class.

Hermione got prepared to go to the astronomy tower to meet with Draco.She put on a grey sweater and put on long pants and she shoved her wand into her pocket.
She swung the portrait door open and head to the astronommy tower.

She climed the stairs to the astronomy tower and saw a peacful Draco standing behind the railing at the edge of the tower.

"Hey." she said while walking towards him making sure he knows her presence.

"Hey,Granger." he motioned her to sit down next to him on the floor.

"Wow it's really beautiful up here at this time." she stared at the sky.

"It really is.Okay,so since we're friends,how about we get to know each other? You ask me about myself and I will ask you about yourself." he explained to the brunette.

"Sure.So, how is it like to be a ferret?" the witch asked bursting into laughter as she remembered the time Professor Moody turned him into a ferret.

"I can't believe you asked that, " he chuckled slightly.

"It was weird.Suddenly,you spin around and everything looks bigger,"

"It's because you are getting smaller." she laughed.

"It feels really different.You become this itchy and hairy thing but the worse past is when I got into Crabbe's pants.Disgusting.He's being pathetic." he continued.

"I can't believe it either.You turned into a ferret." she stiffled a laughter.

"But you look cute even as a ferret." he blushed hearing her say it to him.

"Okay,it's my turn.How is it like to handle Weaselbee and Brown with all the snogging?"

Her smile fell and she lowered her head remembering of the thought of Ron and Lavender.Her face paled and stared him in shock.

"Ginny,Harry,and I don't usually hang out with them.We ignore each other." she said with a frown plastered on her face.

"He cheated on me with Lavender and broke up with me because he thinks I'm nerdy and paid too much attention to my studies instead of him.It really breaks me inside." she said as tears are starting to flow out of her eyes.

"You should forget about him.He really doesen't deserve you." he said with a slight smile trying to comfort her.

She couldn't hold back her tears and started to cry.She covered her face with her hands and rested her head on her knees.

"Let it all out.Sometimes,it's okay to not be okay." Draco said hugging her and letting her cry on the crook of his neck.He swung his arm across her shoulder.

When she stopped crying,Draco rubbed her shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze for moral support.

"Thanks,Malfoy."

Somehow she felt comforted with him.Everytime he listened to her,giving her advice and telling her what is best,she felt like the world came back together by itself at the end.

"You know,since we're friends now,we should call each other with out first names,Hermione." he grinned.

"Alright,Draco."

"We should head back,it's getting dark." Draco pulled her up still having his hand intertwined in hers.
