Petals is a collection of haiku so each part is short and sweet. "A haiku is a specific type of Japanese poem which has 17 syllables divided into three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables". If you're the type of person who loves more depth and length, you've clicked the wrong book.
Read or don't read, please don't be rude. The reason I am mentioning it is because I once entered a Wattpad poetry awards, but after my anonymous judge was done reading it, they gave me quite the review. Their biggest problem seemed to be the length and they even called all the haiku, "Instagram quotes". I don't think they recognized why their feedback was invalid or couldn't apply here. The purpose was to get a meaningful point across in a short, poetic number of words. I love other types of poetry as well but this is reserved for haiku because they're just fun.
The only poem that's not haiku in here is the first one - "Love Scars". It's already been published since the start so I'm just leaving it here.
