Kija was running around all over the apartment, frantically doing anything and everything he could. You pouted. You just wanted him to hold you.

"Kija~" Your whine made him halt in his tracks, turning his full attention on you.

You held out your arms, silently begging for a hug. Kija smiled softly, finally understanding what he needed to do.

He pulled you into his arms, resting his chin on top of your head. You inhaled his scent, finding it calming.

Your past trauma had made it difficult to find comfort in other people, always being afraid that life would swoop in and take them away in the blink of an eye. Over time, you learned that there was always the possibility of that happening, and it was your job to make the most of whatever time you had with them.

It didn't make the fear go away, but it did push it into the background as you grew into the strong, mature young woman you were today.

Kija was someone who had stuck by your side all this time. He was there for you through the highs and the lows, and knew you better than anyone else.

He especially knew that your casual display of cuteness was a cover up for how shaken you really were.

You were shaking in his arms. Badly. Tears rolled down your cheeks as you recounted your nightmare, squeezing your eyes shut as you willed for it to go away.

Kija shushed you softly, running a hand through your hair to soothe you. He sat with you until your sobbing quieted down to the occasional sniffle.

"Y/N," He whispered, ocean blue eyes boring into yours. "Are you alright?"

You nodded your head slowly, but he frowned, not liking the hesitation. You might've said you were okay, but he knew you better than that.

"Let's go watch a movie, yeah?" He suggested, climbing off the bed. Crouching down, his hands urged for you to get on.

You bit your lip excitedly, clambering ungracefully on his back. He carried you into the living room, depositing you carefully on the couch. As you sifted through the various movies you guys had, Kija moved to go make some popcorn when you dived for him, latching your arms around his ankle.

Kija flailed his arms to keep himself from falling over. "Y/N!!"

He stopped when he saw the fear lingering behind your eyes. You were still scared.

Silently, he gathered you up in his arms. The movie choosing would have to wait, he had a girlfriend to protect.

You nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck as he carried you into the small kitchen, legs wrapped around his waist. His hold on you was gentle but grounding. It had taken you a long time to find comfort in physical contact, but once you did, you couldn't get enough from Kija.

He just made you feel so safe.

Kija worked around you as you clung to him, effortlessly popping a bag of popcorn in the microwave. He rubbed your back reassuringly as he got a couple of cups for drinks.

"What do you want, baby?"

The question caught you off-guard, having slipped into a haze by being so close to your boyfriend. Your head swiveled to catch sight of Kija gesturing to the orange, apple and grape juice you had in the fridge.

"Apple." You mumbled tiredly.

Orange juice was for the morning, apple juice was for bad dreams, and grape juice was for when you didn't have either of those two in the apartment.

Kija poured a glass for you, and water for himself. He liked to save the fruit juice for you, knowing how you liked to designate each one for a specific occasion. Collecting the popcorn from the fridge, he put it in a giant bowl, and shuffled back to the living room.

After the second trip to get your drinks, he finally sat down, with you straddling his lap. Heat rose to your cheeks as you realized your proximity to him and a loving smile appeared on Kija's face.

"What?" You asked shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear self-consciously.

Kija shook his head, catching your head to press a soft kiss to the inside of your wrist. Even after he pulled away, the warmth lingered, setting your heart on fire.

"Nothing," He leaned up to rest his forehead against yours. "Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you."

You opened up your mouth to protest, the pink dusting your cheeks undoubtedly a rosy red at this point. But he didn't let you say anything, his breath hot on your neck as he sprinkled butterfly kisses on the bare skin, moving up to your jaw.

He cupped your face lovingly, and you closed your eyes as he finally captured your lips with his. The passion exploded, and your senses heightened. You could feel the way his thumb brushed your cheek as he moved in sync with you, the grip on your waist tightening as you shifted in his lap. His lips were pillowy soft, and he was so careful, as if he was afraid you were going to break right before him.

Kija let out a low groan, breaking the kiss due to the lack of oxygen. You panted heavily, trying to catch your breath, and he doesn't think he's ever seen a more beautiful sight. You, flushed, on top of him. He was able to make you like that, and he was the only one who had the privilege of seeing you in such a state.

You squealed as he flipped you over, your back making contact with the sofa. Kija hovered over you, arms on either side of you. Mischief gleamed in your eyes and he groaned, stealing one last kiss from you. He pushed himself up reluctantly to grab some popcorn.

"What do you want to watch?"

Your answer was hooking your legs around his waist, dragging him back down with you. Kija barely managed to catch himself in time to avoid crushing you under his weight. His baby blue eyes had widened in shock as the corner of your mouth twitched to contain the laughter bubbling up in your chest.

"I don't need that." Your fingers tangling in his hair, "I just need you."

So, the two of you sat on the lumpy couch in the living room for the rest of the night, eating the now cold popcorn and drinking your beloved apple juice. Your apartment was filled with the sounds of joyous laughter and teasing remarks as Kija stole sips of your juice in retaliation for eating his popcorn.

When morning finally came, you stretched your arms above your head, lips widening into a smile as you recalled what Kija had done for you, the nightmare long forgotten.
