A/N Hiya friends! As promised, here's the prologue of "Detransform"! If you haven't read the warnings on the chapter before this, please do. This chapter was a little short just because it was the prologue, but I promise the chapters are going to get longer from now on. Thank you for reading, don't forget to comment, vote, and add! I adore constructive criticism. TW: Blood, blades, murder, possessive behavior, etc.

Marinette Dupain-Cheng was aware of a lot of things, She was aware of the sugary sweet scent itching at her nose (Papa had made lemon macaroons), she was aware of the weight in her trousers that was a pocket knife she had fished from the gutters last weekend during patrol. She was aware that the noise from her headphones was a bit too loud and that Tikki was giving her judgemental looks from her shoulder. She used to not mind the YouTube channels that dedicated themselves to knowing everything about Adrien Agreste. Sure, she thought it was creepy and obsessive, but it didn't seem to bother Adrien as he said it was normal and Marinette didn't mind having an immediate update when something changed in the blond's schedule. Or when a fan crossed a line they really shouldn't have. Marinette was aware that Adrien Agreste had fangirls, but that didn't mean she liked it.

...

It was three weeks after Diamond's defeat when Aubade first attacked. No one called it that, at first, and the first attack would have been excused for a regular murder if the police didn't find a sparkling ruby-red "A" pressed against the victim's neck. The sign deteriorated at the touch of a finger and all that was left was a stab wound and an unreadable message cut into the girl's neck.

Aubade attacked without a single pattern, leaving nothing but the signature "A" and a message in messy blood. So far, only one person had seen them and lived to tell someone.

"They... they only attack you if you try to stop them" the officer had said "I had just discovered the body and they were leaving... no, it was a girl, I think. I... I knew it was bad but she... she saw me and I couldn't move or go near her or run-" the man shuddered, curling into himself as his nails broke into the leather interviewing chair. "The most I could do was ask why she was doing this and she said... she said it was for him. She didn't name anyone, but she said it was for him and no one would try to be his but her... Because he promised"

...

Marinette didn't want to become Aubade. She didn't want to kill all those girls, they'd just gotten too close to Adrien, too obsessed, too in love with her Adrien.

So, she created yet another alter ego.

She started off by simply seeing an opportunity and using her pocket knife to take the girl out in a wave of bloodlust. She was barely aware of the fact that she had carved a threatening message in a variety of languages, some words so messily written she herself couldn't understand them, on the girls neck. She barely noticed the spray paint-like substance she had made in science falling out of her bag, only wrapping her fingers around it and spraying a small "A" in between the girl's collarbones. She was home before she could count to ten, glad that Tikki was a deep sleeper and for choosing a dark outfit to wear that day. As she prepared for bed that night, she was aware of the police sirens nearly a block away, of the spray paint-like can hidden in her dresser and red liquid seeping into the shower drain as she scrubbed the still-fresh ruby blood from under her nails.

A/N Also, I have finals coming up so the next chapter might be a lil late... sorry
