(1)Heyyyyyy! It's time!
(2)Can we not? I'm tired, hyung.
(1)Too bad!
(2)Ugh, today is on you...
(1)YAY!
OKAY GUYS now that the annoyingly professional one is gone, let me tell you the SUPER UPER DUPER IMPORTANT stuff that happened!!!
So, of course Hobi was at Tae's house again and basically he walked in and Tae started talking.
"Not really much to talk about, eh hyung?"
Hoseokie hummed, y'know, normal response stuff. He sat down in his spot, as you do, and started SIPPING 👏 THAT 👏 TEA 👏 then TaeTae started talking again because it's definitely WAY too silent and he's all like "y'know I don't really know much about you" so THIS happens:
"I-"
(2)Oh my god, you're going to do this ALL WRONG. I'm taking over.
(1)Fine by me.
"I guess," Hoseok said, circling the tip of his finger on the ring of the mug.
Taehyung waited, motioning to Hoseok as if to get him to speak.
Hoseok noticed this and perked up. "Oh, are we like, introducing our sad villain
monologue-y backstories?" Hoseok chuckled.Taehyung nodded and sat in anticipation. Hoseok thought for a few moments before opening his mouth to speak.
"I guess I don't really have one. My parents weren't the best but they obviously cared. Of coursse, I was their first kid so that's expected anyway. I wasn't ever really bullied in school either. I had a couple friends and got decent grades. I guess I'm just an average guy-- hell, I have an office job."
Taehyung nodded along to Hoseok's rambling.
"What about you?"
Taehyung sighed.
"I mean... I guess there's a lot. I never really had a big family. Half of it was practically dead," Taehyung spaced out for a moment before continuing. "When my dad found out he left us. I think I was like five. Yeah. Five."
Hoseok's eyebrow's twisted into empathetic curves, even if he didn't know the full story yet.
"A couple years later my mom was diagnosed with skin cancer. We were all expecting it, to be honest. Even if all of us was just me, her, and my aunt."
Hoseok almost reached out to hold the other boy's hand. He wanted to comfort him.
"She fought for a long time. We knew she would be gone but we wanted her with us as long as possible."
Taehyung's eyes glossed over, but he regained his composure and continued.
"When I was 14 my aunt had the same condition. She didn't have as good health insurance so she could only afford bottom-of-the-barrel treatment. We lost her around nine months later."
Taehyung took a deep breath.
"When I was 17... she... I think you get the point. I um... since I inherited the house and was able to get a job they let me stay out of the foster system. I'd uh, been fending for myself for a long time before that anyway, so I guess I was fine in that regards..."
Taehyung broke down into silent cries. He sobbed as quietly as he could. He hunched over and buried his hands into his eyes, rubbing them, as if the dryness from his palms would drown out the tears. Saliva and snot mixed together and ran off his chin. His face was stained a shade of pink. His hair was wet and not at all as fluffy as it was moments ago. He sucked in air rapidly, breathed heavily, sniffled loudly, and started to hiccup.
For a few moments, Hoseok watched the boy helplessly. He noticed this and immediately went to the boys side, wrapping an arm around his waist and entangling the other in his hair. It wasn't a pretty sight.
They stayed in that position for some time, Hoseok softly saying "it's okay's" and "don't cry's" and "they're always alive in your heart's." At this point, the sobbing had stopped and tears only escaped every once in a while, just to be wiped away by Hoseok. Taehyung still sniffled and hiccuped often, but it'd be okay. After all, he was in Hoseok's arms.
(2) Stop crying, you've already heard this a million times.
(1) BUT THE FEEEEEELS *sobs*
