Jade looked around as she saw herself atop a pile of rubble that was once the spire and drew her gaze upward. In the air hovering over her was Xaug, having seemingly already mastered how to use his new power.
"I would like to thank you for doing the leg work" Xaug said as he lifted a boulder in the air. "I was able to learn how to perfectly control these elements because you figured it out first."
"How is that" Jade asked.
"Well Hendok told me everything I needed to know" Xaug said with a shrug. "Your mind was heavily fortified but the same cannot be said for that Dragon who is madly in love with you."
Xaug threw the boulder at her as she split it down the middle with her powers. She shot a stream of fire at him but he wrapped the fire around himself like a shield.
He may use the elements but he does not control them Flint said in her head as the mark on her hand began to glow.
You understand that it is not about control Ember said.
The time has come at last for us to fight as one Gale said.
For Arda Koral declared.
Jade felt like her hand exploded as her sword let out a massive pulse and flack of light. As her eyes refocused she saw that she was surrounded by the four guardians. They were in their real bodies unlike the manifestations of fire and earth Flint and Ember took during the summer. Xaug stared in disbelief.
"It is time to embrace destiny" Jade declared as she flew off towards Xaug.
Xaug tried to move out of the way but he was struck by Koral as she flew gracefully through the sky by surrounding herself with the rain water. Jade struck him hard as he flew backwards. A gust of wind from Gale shot him back to the ground where Flint bombarded him with a barrage of rocks. Xaug tried to stop the rocks but was struck with a massive torrent of flames from behind as Ember chuckled to herself.
Xaug tried to give himself a second to think. He saw the sword in Jade's hand glowing brightly as everything fell into place. He quickly charged at her as he pulled out his scepter and fired a focused energy blast at the mark on her sword's blade. The sword broke cleanly in two as the four guardians disappeared without a trace. He pulled a bunch of rain water from the air and formed a giant ice spear. He thrust his hand downward as the spear crashed down on her and broke through her armor. Another wave of his hand and the ice melted leaving Jade in a pool of her own blood as she struggled to say something.
"THIS IS IT" Xaug declared. "My vision has come true at last" Xaug declared triumphantly. He looked upon Jade struggling to say something. After everything he did to get here he needed to savor the moment. He leaned in to Jade "I'm sorry what was that" He asked in a mocking tone.
CRASH
Xaug turned to see his scepter smashed to pieces with an ice spear like the one he used on Jade. He felt Jade grab ahold of his collar as she dragged him to her and looked him in the eyes.
"I said 'You Lose'" She said a smirk spreading across her face as she collapsed back to the ground.
He saw his scepter shoot a purple light into the sky as he could feel himself feeling weaker.
"How did you know" Xaug demanded of her as she laid on the ground losing consciousness.
"Because I told her" Said a voice from behind him.
Xaug felt a tingle of terror as he turned around to see who spoke.
Saje stood there, his skin pale and lifeless, wearing a black cape, and holding a scythe in his hand.
