The Day of Destiny was fast approaching. The night before they made their way to the plains that surrounded Godarick's Spire. The tension was noticeable as Jade addressed the army.
"First I want to thank each and everyone of you for committing yourself to this battle" Jade began. "I want all of you to keep the enemy army as occupied as possible. Meanwhile the four big threats will be faced head on by me and my group. I want you to do your best to keep their fights from being interrupted as their fights are the ones that will determine victory. Please do not attempt to join in their fights as you would only end up getting in the way or used as a hostage for the enemy. I have one last thing to say: If we win this day I, Jade of Cresalda and Queen of Hegasha will entrust the future of Hegasha to General Gremdar- or should I say King Gremdar."
A loud chorus of cheers filled the air as Gremdar was clearly caught off guard by this announcement.
"Let us Make Destiny" Jade declared as she held her sword up high.
After another round of cheers everyone was dismissed to make final preparations. Jade approached her group to finalize their plans.
"Do you have a plan" Gremdar asked her.
"I do" Jade said, "But I need to keep it to myself."
"Fair enough" Gremdar said. "Also what was that about me being king?"
"Oh right" Jade said. She placed her finger on her father's forehead. "I, Queen Jade, hereby relinquish the power of the crown to King Gremdar. May he protect and serve the people for as long as he wields the crown. Long live the king."
The crown insignia appeared on Gremdar's forehead.
"When the time comes mom wanted you to entrust this power to the elves. This was one of her final wishes."
Gremdar nodded. "So the four big threats, who gets who?"
"Aunt Kendra and Galof are an obvious pairing as she would be the most successful in taking him on" Jade explained. "Killing Galof would eliminate the enemy army immediately. Even if a regeneration is forced we still have the upper hand but finishing him off would be the better option considering how dangerous he alone is. Now the matter of Hendok is the challenging as he is probably the most powerful and the one we don't want to kill."
"I volunteer" Talon said. "I think after what happened with Syvix it only makes sense that I be in a battle that will force me to use restraint."
"Keep in mind that under Syvix's control Hendok will not hold back with his psychic powers. He will be able to read your mind and overpower you easily."
"Which is why I will fight alongside him" Serenity said. "Between my long ranged combat and his hand to hand tactics we stand a better chance by dividing his attention between two targets."
"And that leaves me with Syvix" Gremdar said. "I was kinda hoping to take him on. I have something special I've been working on just for him."
"Will you alright with that matchup" Jade asked. "Syvix is no pushover."
"I have an ace up my sleeve" Gremdar said. "And thanks to the crown I may be able to pull it off even easier."
"Killing Syvix also means freeing Hendok" Jade said, now talking to Talon and Serenity. "If you can't knock him out then you need only distract him long enough for Syvix to be taken out."
"Right" Talon said. "That makes our job a tad bit easier..."
"We have been preparing for this day" Jade said. "Some of us have been preparing for the past year while others" She cast a look at her dad and Kendra, "Have dedicated most of their lives to this day. Let's make history!"
