We pulled an all nighter on the couch , and I have the pains to show for it , not to mention that Jazz slept half of that time sitting up.

If I am cranky then she's a real Godzilla . Two cups of coffee down the line and she still looks like a hungover sloth . I don't know where I've seen one but just imagine it , that's Jasmin right now

We were meant to go to the tiny house up the hill but given grumpy and Godzilla , we will see it later .

Dad came back downstairs, still in his sleepwear " umm girls, are you sure it's not a great idea for you guys to go to bed for at least an hour or two ."

"You look worse than zombies And clearly that very strong coffee is not doing any justice."

"Agh , I can't nzuri , I'm out." That was my friend dragging her feet up the stairs , taking dad's advice

Sell out ... I thought we were gonna fight through and go to the mountain. I blew out an exaggerated breathe and rolled my eyes - so much for  support.

I decided a bath will shake me up and that's exactly what I did ...

It was a beautiful breeze and I was swinging on the tree swing , one , two then he gave me a little push .... the feel of the breeze on my face was so refreshing like a day filled with great news and a sunshine to complement it ... all I wanted was to spread my wings and fly right there and then .... then he pulled me back to stop the swing , and learned closer to whisper in my ear

Bang !bang!bang!

I swished around in the water , in a very rude awakening. Dang it , I fell asleep in the tub . Oh my ! What was I thinking

Nothing that's what , actually you thought you're invincible huh Nzuri!

"Oh shut up ! It's embarrassing enough that I slept in the tub , you don't need to rub salt on it

"Are you in there Nahia ?" That was Jazz on the outside of the bathroom door

" yes missy , be out in a minute."

I hope I wasn't in here for too long , and that weird dream ... I was trying to put a face on the person I was with , but I can't.

When I was done dressing up and went downstairs I realized it's about an hour and twenty minutes in since I went up to bath . I did a mini  forehead rub , knowing too well that there's about to be a fair Share of questions that need to be answered

My dad and Jazz shared a knowing look , I could see their faces contorting into an agonizing loud laugh . They busted out , so loud , if they had water in their mouths they would've done spit-takes.

I tried to look mad , but it's honestly funny , my face heated up with the embarrassment

"Okay, okay ! Yes people I was obviously extremely tired , can we move on now."

We spoke and laughed while eating lunch . Dad made vege wraps , such deliciousness.

I gave him a peck on the cheek on my way out with Jazz " thanks for the yummy, tummy filling ,goodness .

We walked up the hill , and May seemed to pop up in our conversation. " we really need to go and see her , you know the last time we went days without talking she was locked up"

"Oh my gosh, yes , I'm so worried now ." Jazz said with evident concern in her eyes

We got to the house and started working on the frames we had planned to make and hang up on the walls.

As if on cue , few minutes in , May is ushered in limping, by my dreaded reality ,  Malach

She looked very tired as though she was running with a few bruises on her face and arm.

"Oh goodness , May, oh no !" I rushed over to her with threatening tears on my eyes .

"What the hell?" Jazz shouted with hands on her head.

May couldn't hold herself any longer she lost all will to stand and melted down to the floor, with loud wails and out cries.. she was holding it in.

Luckily Malach had enough strength to pick her up and put her on the couch bed . He carefully placed her down as though she's a fragile petal . And she curled up and pulled a pillow towards her stomach ... i curled up next to her and so did Jazz and we knew we didn't need to ask any questions at that moment . Her pain needed to be felt and there weren't words enough to speak it out yet. It was silent for what seemed like forever until Malach cleared his throat .

"Umm, I will leave you girls to it , I hope you will be alright , I'll be on my way now if you don't need anything."

I raised my head and thought about just saying bye and staying with May but I also needed to know where he found her and what had happened.

So I called him to walk out with me and he did just that with his hands slid into his pockets uncomfortably , he was also affected by May's misfortune. I caught my tears failing to  remain dormant.

No , you need to be strong Nahi , for May.

I could hear the sound of my throat swallowing " Malach right , please tell me where you found her and what happened."

"I-I , she was running , when I passed by her place , I assume it's her place , and she stormed off in this direction and I saw a man come out of the same yard , he looked  drunk to a stupor and he was bleeding on his lip ."

He started thinking for a moment

"He said a few cuss words and limped back inside ... she was still running and then she fell so terribly, I guess that's when the pain fully kicked in that she was badly hurt. So I carried her over here , upon her request when I asked her where she wants to go to , I tried to ask her what was wrong but she didn't say a word."

I starred at him , I fought my tears back .
