Chapter Thirty eight

"We got here as soon as we heard."

"How did it go?"

Iyon ang unang bungad sa kanya ni Mason at Aiden pagpasok na pagpasok ng mga ito sa opisina niya.

Mula sa kanyang floor to ceiling glass window, lumipat sa dalawa ang buong pansin niya. Isang malalim na buntong hininga ang pinakawalan niya bago siya umupo sa kanyang swivel chair.

He closed his eyes for a moment before he massaged the bridge of his nose. He could feel the headache creeping in.

"That bad huh?" Ang nag-aalangang tanong ni Mason ng makita ang iginawi niya.

"She wants divorce." Sagot niya dito habang nakapikit pa din.

Sandaling katahimikan ang namayani.

"Anong sinabi mo? Pumayag ka?"

"Of course not!" He said as he opened his eyes and looked at them. "I told her I will never let her go."

"And? I supposed it didn't go well huh?"

"She got really angry she wanted to sue me for adultery." Mapakla siyang tumawa.

"Adultery?" Ulit ni Aiden.

He sighed. "Yes. With the picture I told you about?"

"Tsk. Bakit kasi iyon pa ang ibinigay mong letrato sa Detective ng asawa mo?"

"Eh ano namang ibang letrato ang ibibigay ko? It's not like I've been fucking different women since the day I got my vision back!"

Mason snickered. "Oo nga pala... you were one hell of a faithful husband! Pero bakit naman kasi kay Cece mo ginawa iyon?" Tatawa tawang tanong ni Mason sa kanya. "That's so gross you know? It's like a fucking incest!"

"Tell me about it." He grumbled. "And just to make things clear? Cece was the one who kissed me—"

"Dahil hindi mo pinigilan." Singit ni Aiden sa kanya.

"Hindi ko pinigilan dahil alam kong nakatutok sa akin ang camera ng Detective na iyon. I took the chance and see? It worked!" Paliwanag niya.

"Yeah, it worked. You had the Detective work for you. You had everything planned out for your wife to come back to you. Everything is according to your plan. But let me tell you again. Hindi pa rin masama ang magkaroon ng back up plan just in case something goes wrong."

He smirked. "I have plans, Mason. I'm ready to conquer."

Mason gave him a toothy grin. "You conniving little bitch! I'm so proud of you, dude!"

"But you do know she'll just ask you for divorce again and again, don't you?" Aiden chimed in.

Napabuntong hininga siya.

"You only managed to keep her at bay for now. But you have to act fast, buddy." Dagdag pa nito.

Nagtiim bagang siya. She can ask all she wants and it will still be a 'no'. He will give her the same answer over and over again.

"You won't be able to hold her for too long."

"Like what I've told you, I have a plan." Wika niya sa dalawa.

"Ano naman iyon?" Tanong ni Mason.

"I'm planning on telling her the truth."

Natigilan ang mga ito.

"You think she'll believe you?"

"She will. She have to." Matigas niyang wika.

"Ewan ko pare ah... pero matagal ang sampung taon. Sabihin na nating ipinagtapat mo sa kanya ang totoo. Pagkatapos niyon, sigurado ka ba na may pagtingin pa din sa iyo iyang misis mo? Kahit konti lang?"
