Maaga siyang nagising kinabukasan. She looks pale and weak. There are also dark circles in her eyes due to lack of sleep.
"Bullshit! Listen to me, kumpadre. I don't care how long it takes, so long as that bastard get caught. I don't care if he lives of dies in the process!"
She took a step towards the door. All the while listening to her father's angry voice.
"Make this your priority, kumpadre. You have the evidences. I would give anything for that bastard to die but everytime I see my son lying lifelessly on a casket... I just want that bastard to suffer... so please, help me on this one."
She stood frozen in front of the door. What did he mean by that? Ano ang nangyayari? Ano ba talaga ang nangyayari?
"Yes. I'll wait for your update."
The shocked look on his face is telling her she just heard something she wasn't meant to hear.
"Ayen, hija..."
But his soft voice will not deter her. Pinatigas niya ang mukha. Seryoso niyang tinitigan ito.
"What was that I just heard?"
"N-nothing."
Pinanliitan niya ito ng mga mata. "It wasn't nothing and we both know it."
Her father sighed.
"I said it's nothing, Ayen."
If he thought she'd let him get away with this, he should think again!
She pursed her lips.
Ilang segundo silang nagtitigan. Neither one of them backing down.
"I heard it so tell me. It wasn't just an accident, was it?" Usisa niya.
Matagal siyang tinitigan ng kanyang ama. Mayamaya pa'y napalabi ito saka napabuntong hininga.
"We will discuss it, but not now!"
Nag-igting ang kanyang mga panga. This is why she never understood him! It's because he always treats her like a damn child! He never involved her in things that she has the right to know!
"Why won't you tell me things?!"
"Because it doesn't concern you!"
She was completely taken aback. She looked at him with disbelief. "Doesn't concern me? What? So I am not part of this family now? Is that it?"
"Anak, you know that's not what I-"
"Stop calling me that!" She shook her head at him with so much disappointment. "You can stop acting like you care about me! I don't give a damn!
Her face is filled with so much worry.
