Just Her

Chapter 1 :

Unique woke up to a loud banging on her door. She stood up and opened the door to see her assistant, Melissa holding a tablet with a worried expression. "It's 6:00 o'clock in the morning and you come barging in like you own the place. What's your problem?!" Unique angrily asked and Melissa handed Unique the tablet. Unique Davis, CEO of DS entertainment is in a relationship with her artist. She laughed at the sight of this article. So this is what he means by doing anything to me?

"Staining my name won't be the last thing he will do, tell our PR not to do anything." Unique said as Melissa looked at her with a worried expression, like she won't ever get out of this. "Don't tell me you underestimate me?" Unique asked and Melissa shook her head before taking back the tablet. "The press conference is ready as well." She said before heading out

Unique ran the hot water into the tub as her phone was ringing, she took it and looked at the caller ID. Polar. It rang and she refused to answer the call because she knows that he will continue to manipulate her into believing that he was on her side.

Unique dipped her feet in the tub filled with hot water as she felt refreshed.

The bath was quick but refreshing, She took her short white dress and placed a small layer of make up before heading out.

"Ma'am, sir Polar is outside." Ms. Ma approached Unique. "What should I do ma'am?" She asked, "nothing. Let him be." Unique answered and walked outside. "Unique!" He shouted her name but she dismissed him, she did not look at him as she entered her Aston Martin, she took off without the word which seem to cut him off guard.

Unique rolled up to DS Entertainment as paparazzi swarmed her car.

"Miss Davis, is it true that you have a relationship with Guam?"

"Have you truly lost your respect that you would have a relationship with your artist?"

"Miss Davis, can you give any reason to why you would date your artist?"

Guards intervened as they cleared her path, before Unique totally entered she looked at the media and they we're taken aback, she gave them a look before opening her mouth to say, "you can have your answer on the press conference." She turned her back on them as they threw questions above questions above questions. Unique entered as they all just took pictures of her.

Guam, the man stated in the issue came up to Unique personally and started pointing fingers, "you! You are a CEO here, you need to clear my name right now!" He screamed at Unique, "then again, I am a CEO and you are an artist. I have your life on the palm of my hands." Unique answered before leaving.

I will not comply to what he wants, he is just a mere artist in my company.

"The press conference is about to start." Melissa entered Unique's room with a slight smile.

She stood up and entered the auditorium.

Media we're sitted but when Unique entered they almost tried to hold her to get an answer.

"Let's start." She whispered to Melissa. "Good morning, as per usual. This press conference will be organized the same. Questions will be answered one by one. You will all have a chance to ask questions." Melissa opened and stepped back as Unique took the mic.

"Miss Davis, you are rumored to be dating you artist, Guam. Is this true?" A man asked and they all turned their attentions to Unique. "I do not know why you would believe such a rumor. In DS entertainment, we keep everything professional." She clearly said, "are you not denying the claim?" Another reporter asked, "do you have enough evidence to support the rumor?" Unique asked back, they all silenced as a man pulled up his phone. "You have been spotted by a paparazzi with a man, can this be Guam?" He asked and she smiled once again. "That is indeed Guam, we met to discuss his contract--" Unique was cut off by a woman, "was it necessary for you to meet with him personally?" She asked so Unique leaned over the table. "As all of you know, I signed Guam to DS Entertainment myself, I believe this picture was taken 'before' his debut." Unique answered clearly, "do you deny having a relationship with Guam?" Another reporter asked and she nodded. "I do, I deny this accusation because I know to myself and Guam that our relationship is completely professional and we have no feelings what-so-ever to each other." She answered.

"I'm really curious ma'am Davis, there was a post by an artist Jackson stating 'b*tch'. We are aware that he auditioned here yesterday, was the post for you?" A woman asked. "We had a slight argument in the auditorium but it was quickly resolved, seems like Jackson still was not satisfied and must've let out his steam." Unique answered truthfully. "Does it affect you in anyway?" A man followed up the woman's question. "Actually, no. There's a lot of people who we're angered by how I judge but it's just my way." Unique answered. "Are you in a good terms with the artist, Jackson?" A man asked, "I personally think that I may have offended him but I'm willing to say I am not sorry for giving you a constructive criticism so that you can improve yourself." Unique said seriously while looking straight into the camera.

The crowd we're searching for more questions to ask when suddenly...

"DS Entertainment has been on the news lately for being one of the best entertainment company around the world. People who have auditioned and was rejected claims you have been too harsh on judging them, is this true?" A woman asked. All of the reporters we're dumbfounded by her questions as the auditorium we're filled with mockery. They could't believe what this woman asked.

Unique looked at her a piercing gaze as she opened her mouth to acknowledge the question. "Yes, this is true." Unique answered, people suddenly stopped talking. "Again, I have been strict with the judging, we are not best in the country if we we're to accept people who can just be a mockery in front of his or her audience. We are to pick people who matches the criteria. This burden is not only mine to carry but also my co-judges. We see potential, we take them. So me being harsh on judging them is not the only reason. They also might not match the criteria that I have set for the auditions." She continued.

They all started typing. "How come your family has yet to acknowledge your success in managing the entertainment?" A man asked. Unique smirked and look at the biggest camera. "Maybe they have yet to realize the big impact and big difference when I started handling this company. They might not know that no one was set to be better handling this except for me." She answered answered. "You are indeed the best!" A reporter said and smiled.

Unique looked at Melissa and Melissa already knew what to do, she immediately grabbed the mic and stepped upfront. "This is where the press conference will end, I am hoping you got all of your curiosity out and are satisfied with the answer our CEO has given you. Thank you so much." Melissa closed the conference as the guards walked side-by-side with Unique.

She walked pass Guam but did not look at him. As soon as she got to her office, a man with a dark piercing aura was waiting.

"Ms. Davis." The man greeted, even with him showing only his back, Melissa knew he was not one to be messed with. "Mr. Falcon." Unique greeted back as the man started facing her. As the man emitted an aura Unique also put up her guard, she was not going to let this man intimidate her.

Melissa realized that this man was their corporation's rival. Melissa could not believe that such a man stepped in their rival's entertainment company. Melissa slowly walked out leaving Unique and the man in the office.

I am really sorry about the delay in publishing the chapters, it's been quite some time after I posted the prologue as I said in the first page that I will be posting weekly, every Tuesday. I realized that I cannot promise this time of updates because I am quite busy in my daily life so weekly publishing will be hard, I decided to post whenever I can, I know this might be inconsistent so please bear with me.
