Haru was jerked awake by Celes holding a brochure to his face. "Mr. Haru, could we go here today? This says there's a flower field full of exotic flowers there."
The boy shooed her away. "Not time for going, time for sleep."
Celes pouted. "Wake up!" She started shaking him violently and repeating herself over and over like a spoiled child.
He groaned aloud and rolled over. "Go away!" A short moment passes and he felt a strong kick to his stomach, sending him over the edge. "What the hell is wrong with you?" He screamed at her from the floor.
The girl smiled sweetly and jumped to her feet, wrapping the towel around her bare body. "You're awake! Come on, let's get ready!"
Haru sighed and smacked his head on the floor. "You're going to be the death of me."
Celes ran straight for the door but not before giving him a pat on the head. "I promise I won't ask too much from you." With that, she left.
Haru regrettably got up from the floor that had somehow become comfortable in the mere seconds he spent down there. he stood and quickly noticed the red spots on the bed. He instantly gave himself a scan before the memory of what had happened last night surged into thought.
"So it wasn't a dream." He muttered. "Celes was my first time." His eyes drifted off to the floor. So this is what it felt like? Haru grabbed his bed clothes that had fallen to the floor when Celes had kicked him off. "I could count myself lucky." He put on a smile. "Not every guy will have a goddess as his girlfriend... even if she's as air-headed and annoying as this one."
He went downstairs to find Chitoge watching television. She had gotten into the idea a few days ago at first thinking it was some sort of magic but after he explained how it works, she got into watching anything that was one and since he only had anime, she began to take a liking to it, even though she didn't understand the whole thing.
"Mr. Otonashi?" Chitoge had her legs folded under her on the couch. "May I ask you something?"
"Yeah, what is it?"
Chitoge pulled up a photo of a little girl posing while holding a giant beach ball. "Is this person someone important to you?"
Haru suddenly felt a gasket blow in his stomach. "That's my sister."
The girl looked down at the photo then back at him. "Where is she?"
He hesitated for a while but decided to answer. "She died from a brain tumor two years ago."
Chitoge looked surprised. "I..."
Haru shook his head. "She never really got to go out so I kept visiting her at the hospital and bringing things she could play with." His head droops and he tried to hold back the tears he felt coming on. "One of the elders invited me to the shrine to pray for her everyday. He told me the gods would certainly hear my prayer if I begged them to spare her."
The girl took another glimpse of the picture. "Is that why you said you hated the gods?"
He didn't answer. "Get some clothes on. Celes wants to go out this morning."
******
The walk to the flower garden was pretty awkward between Chitoge and Haru. She'd try to ask something and he would pretend to be annoyed by Celes going on and on about how much she loves flowers. They eventually make it there and luckily, there weren't too many people there so he could avoid looking like the one guy with a pair of girls oblivious as to what personal spaces meant.
