I smiled ay my father who was in my room. The same father who just got home from his job. The same man I had been trying to convince to get me a dog for the past six months!
"Please dad."
He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Cay. I've already said this a million times no!"
I put a pout on my face, "Why?"
He let out a growl, "Because I said no. We both know about the wolves that run around the woods behind our house. What if it got out and got hurt?! You already have enough things to worry about you certainly don't need another thing to mess with your depression."
I sunk back into my chair, "That's why I need one."
"I'll think about it. Go to bed, you have classes in the morning."
I nodded and smiled at him, "Night dad."
He smiled at me and left my room closing the door behind him.

I let out a sigh and went out the back door. I needed to go see someone. I made my way to the woods behind my house.
"KEVIN!"
Soon a saw a man with brown hair that had flecks of gray in it appear, "Yes sir?"
"Cay wants a dog."
Kevin smiled at me, "So get him one. We can't just keep having Sora go and-"
"I know."
Kevin sighed, "Trust me. I'm sure the wolves would leave it alone."
I nodded, "I'll tell him tomorrow. When is Sora getting home?"
"Two weeks."
I sighed, "So sooner the better."
He nodded, "You should tell him."
"NO. I made a promise to his mother."
Kevin let out a growl, "HE'LL FIND OUT SOONER OR LATER!"
"NOT IF I HIDE HIM FROM IT!"
"YOU CAN'T HIDE HIM FROM IT FOREVER! HIS MOTHER DIDN'T KNOW ANY-"
Suddenly we were face to face, "DON'T YOU SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HER! YOU DIDN'T KNOW HER!"
"NO BUT I KNOW, I KNEW YOU! WE WERE-"
I slapped him, "YOU DON'T GET TO TALK ABOUT WHAT WE ONCE WERE. IT'S YOUR FAULT THAT CHANGED!"
He growled, "IT'S NOT! IT'S HER SISTERS!"
"WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE!"
"BECAUSE I-"

I woke up to the sound of the front door closing. I walked into the kitchen seeing my father who had a smile on his face.
"Dad?"
He looked at me and pointed to one of the chairs. I quickly fallowed his hand and sat down in the chair, "What is it."
"How about you take the day off?"
I tilted my head, "Why?"
He laughed, "You want that dog or not."
I smiled and quickly nodded grabbing my phone.
"Don't. I already called your school"
My smile got brighter as he got the keys.
Soon we were at Walmart getting a collar and dog food. I told dad not to worry about a dog bed because the dog would just be sleeping on my bed. He laughed but did as I said.
