Ant, Dec, Lisa and Ali all managed to have the same weekend off as each other which happened to coincide with one of Dec's sisters birthday in the Summer. They all decided to travel up to Newcastle by train with Hurley and Rocky, saving them being looked after by someone else. They decided on an earlier train on the Friday so they could spend as much time as possible with both Ant and Dec's families. As it was an early morning train, Dec struggled with staying awake just as much as Rocky did so they both ended up asleep for most of the 3 hour journey with Ant, Lisa and Ali chatting about their plans for the weekend. In the end, they came up with the idea that Ant and Dec would spend Friday with their own family, join back up on Saturday and spend the day together with both families followed by the party in the evening, and then Sunday would be a relaxed day at the beach, depending on the weather.
After Saturday being a pretty hectic day and evening, all 4 of them didn't get out of bed until late Sunday morning and they had planned to go to Sandhaven Beach in the afternoon before travelling back to Chiswick in the evening. Dec and Ali travelled to the beach with Rocky and Moyra and her two sons whilst Ant and Lisa went with Ant's sisters and Hurley. It was a fairly warm day so they all dressed in summer clothing to have a paddle in the sea. As soon as both dogs saw each other, they ran to the other and played with each other.
"Hey, Declan. How's your head this morning? Mines banging like." Both Ant and Dec had had a fair amount to drink the night before at the party.
"Aye, mine's killing me man."
"Declan, you only had 3 pints."
"Hey shush Ali, I had more than 3 thank you very much," Ali just rolled her eyes at Dec and the rest of the group, "you had a fair amount to drink too didn't you mate?" He was talking to the youngest of Moyra's sons who had only recently turned 16.
"Yeah tell me about it, he threw up 4 times last night. Only made it to the bathroom on the third try. You need to take tips off your Uncle Dec of how to make it to the bathroom in time. You were a nightmare that night Declan, and the day after! I'll never forget it."
"I was like 17, come on." Dec replied to Moyra's teasing.
"But it wouldn't have been as bad if you didn't come to Byker the next day. You were trollied that day and I'll never forget it either." Ant joined in, not resisting the chance to make fun of Dec light-heartedly.
"Well it was your fault, you sneaked into your Mam's cupboard."
"But I didn't know you couldn't hold your drink did I? Eh?"
"Boys. That's enough, stop bickering with each other. Let's just have a relaxing day today." Lisa interrupted, getting pretty bored of the jibes they were throwing towards each other.
"Let's have a seat here, it's pretty empty in this part." Dec's hangover was definitely getting to him now and all he wanted was to be able to have an afternoon nap. It didn't look like that was going to happen though as his nephews brought a football with them and wanted Ant and Dec to play with them. They both joined in for about 10 minutes before Dec had to pull out of playing before he threw up.
"Lightweight!"
"Shut up Ant!" Dec was soon asleep on the picnic blanket they brought, alongside Rocky.
Lisa, Ali and Moyra caught up with each other whilst Dec was sleeping and Ant was playing football with Dec's nephews.
"When have they next got time off?"
