"So, that's the girls at their Dad's for his birthday tomorrow. Anything you want to do this afternoon? I think it's just meant to be showers all day." Anne Marie walked through the front door and sat on one of the stools alongside the breakfast bar next to her boyfriend, Ant.

"Well the dogs will still need to go for a walk, even if it's a quick one. Are you gonna let me go on my own? Get soaked by myself?" Ant put on his best puppy eyed face, something he learnt off Dec years ago.

"With a face like that, of course I'll let you go by yourself," Anne Marie giggled and leant into Ant, "you know I can never resist your gorgeous face. I'll come with you."

"I was only joking. You'll get wet, and then you'll end up ill, then you'll be grumpy."

Anne Marie slapped Ant across the shoulder, "Oi! That may be slightly true but shush. How about then, let's have another date night? I'll set everything up and by the time you've taken the dogs, it'll be sorted."

"See, I always knew you were good for something."

"You're such a dick sometimes, you know that right? Why I love you, I don't know." Anne Marie and Ant both smiled at each other and both leant in for a kiss. One of the reasons they got on so well was the fact that they shared a very similar sense of humour, "give me an hour and a half. It'll be a surprise."

"Come on then boys." He put all 3 dogs on their leads and walked the short distance to Wimbledon Common, one of his and Anne Marie's most common spots to walk the dogs.

Almost 2 hours later, Ant arrived home with Hurley, Bumble and Milo all soaked from the rain, with Anne Marie having towels ready for all 3 dogs.

"Where's my towel?"

"Have a nice warm bath and be down in half an hour, I'm not quite finished yet."

"So you don't want to join me?"

"I already had one while you were out. Now hurry up or dinner will get cold."

"What is for dinner?"

"You know it's a surprise." Anne Marie pecked Ant on the lips and turned to go back into the kitchen whilst Ant raced upstairs to get ready.

Just over 30 minutes later, Ant came wondering down the stairs dressed in smart shirt and jeans, "something smells lovely," he popped his head around the corner, into the open plan kitchen and dining room, "wow."

Ant was rendered speechless. Anne Marie had laid out dozens of candles on the dining room table and on the units nearby.

"So?"

Ant walked over to Anne Marie and stroked a strand of hair that was out of place behind her ear, "this is amazing. It's gorgeous. Perfect. I'm lost for words."

"I'm glad you like it."

"I love it. Any reason why?"

"Can I not spoil you?"

"Yeah but, wow. That's all I seem to be saying. Thank you." Ant kissed Anne Marie and slid his hands around her waist and bent her backwards. He deepened the kiss but was soon cut short by Anne Marie.

"As much as I loved that. Dinner will get cold and I've made your favourite. Ribs."

Ant gasped, "you know me too well. let's tuck in." Ant pulled out Anne Marie's chair for her and then tucked her in and wondered over to his seat and started eating, "this is amazing. Thank you. Again."
