Emily

I see a young child, maybe she's three? She was wearing a white dress while holding a white rabbit doll. She was in children's park. Few children pushed her around while she was crying. Her beautiful face was flushed red and eyes puffy.

"Daddy." She cries out loudly and a man, appeared quickly looking panic and scared as he shooed the other children away and picked her up and rubbed her back.

"I'm sorry, Em. Daddy was busy talking to other mommy's and daddy's. Are you okay?" He asked and the child stopped crying and put her head on his shoulder.

"Yes." The child said.

"Why is she still unconscious?" I could hear mom's voice from the distant and I wanted to open my eyes.

I could hear some explanation from someone but it was unclear. Someone was holding my hand and was crying and it bothered me very much, but then I fell myself falling asleep once again.

"Em." I could hear Everett's voice. "I love you." He was crying and it bothered me, that I couldn't move, couldn't open my eyes and look at him and tell him the same thing.

"I couldn't believe you love me or is it loved now? That girl kissed me and I pushed her away. I swear I pushed her away. I was drunk and I had too many thoughts in my mind at that time. How could you love me when I'm so selfish and only loved myself?

Through out this week, I had thoughts like could I love someone more than me? I'm sorry for pushing you away all because I thought I didn't deserve your love. Please wake up, Em. I'm sorry."

All I wished I could do was to soothe him and tell him, it's okay Everette, I love you, but I slipped into unconsciousness.

I was conscious again, it was Dad and he sounded like he was crying. Is dad crying? No. Not him, too.

"I'm sorry for taking you to the beach, Em. It's like the last time when we took you to the beach. I'm sorry, Em."

All I wanted to tell Dad was it's okay, Dad. You don't have to apologize for anything.

I hear mom's voice and she sounded so upset, "I promise, Em. I promise if you wake up, I won't force you into going to that music class or to music school after senior year, but you have to wake up, honey. I'm sorry for being such a neglectful mother. Please wake up." And I heard her sobbed at the end.

I see myself in a dark high low dress and I was bare feet running in a field, there was sunshine, butterflies flying. A flower crown on my head and as I ran, my hair was blowing with the wind.

I was smiling, I was happy. There was that beautiful ray of sunshine, there was that beautiful chirping of the bird and it felt really nice. I don't know where I was running towards. The field was big and the feeling of running was nice, but all of a sudden I stopped and I see Everett. He was giving me that haunting look in his eyes. He was saying something, his mouth was moving, but no words was coming out from him.

I looked at the beautiful butterfly flying around and I wanted to chase them, but my feet ran towards Everett, instead. I was eager to go near him. I was reaching out for him, but as soon as our hands touched, he disappeared and the field started turning dark and grey and I screamed.

I jolted awake, my eyes wide open and there was noises all around me. Panic filled voices. I felt suffocated like I couldn't breathe. I looked around me and see strangers and I panicked and tried moving away from them.

Where am I? What's going on?

"Emily." I heard familiar voice. I see my parents and I couldn't help but cry. I don't know why, but I did it anyway.

"You're awake, honey." Mom looked so happy and Dad looked relieved.

"What happened?" I choked.

"You almost drown, honey." Dad said in horror. "You almost drown the second time in your life while you were with me."

And I remember that, I remember him blaming himself and I reached out for them and shake my head.

"I'm okay." I said to them. "I'm fine, I promise."

A woman wearing a white coat entered and she looked at me and said,

"You're okay, you're safe." She said. "I'm Dr. Victoria, you're currently in the hospital for almost drowning."

Her blue-green eyes looked at me. "I'm going to do some quick check-up. Is that okay?"

I nodded my head. She flashed lights in my eyes, made me look around, checked my ears and heart beat and everything else.

"We would suggest, she stay over for another day as precaution."

Mom hugged me tightly for the first time and I hugged her back.

Grayson walked in with a woman, who was shorter than him by few inches. Her brunette hair was short and straight. Her dark eyes looked haunted.

"Em." Grayson said walking swiftly towards me. "I'm so glad you're awake."

"Hi." I said to them. It was awkward having them around here.

"Emily." The woman sobbed as she hugged me tightly.

"Elisa, she just woke up." Grayson said softly as he put his hands on her shoulders.

"I'm sorry." She apologized to me as she backed away. I internally sighed in relief.

"What happened?" I asked confused and suddenly overwhelmed with different emotions all at once. I only remember the part where water filled me up and I couldn't breathe. That was the scariest moment.

"You almost drown." Dad said. "When I came back, some people were giving you CPR. They said, they saw you drowning."

"Right." I said to dad.

"Everett is here as well." Dad said. "You don't have to meet him if you don't want to.."

"How did he found out?" I asked.

"He was over at the place and then your dad called me and he drove me here." Mom said.

"I want to meet him." I said.
Everyone stepped out and Everett walked in.

"Em." He said striding towards me quickly and hugged me tightly.

I hugged him back.

"Are you okay?" He asked looking at me.

"I'm okay." I said.

"You scared everyone, including me." He said putting his forehead on mine.

"You wanted to say something?"
