Pup and Pack

Prologue

Mario's claws flashed. The Wild Hunt warrior's armor was sliced to bits and he went down. He could hear Xylo biting and clawing his way through the remaining ones. The leader's horse reared. He shouted from under his helmet to "grab the back-up plan" and go. The rest followed him back into the forest.

Xylo fist pumped. "Alright! That is what I am talking about!"

"Let's not count our chickens before they're hatched, Xylo. Let's regroup with the rest of the Pack and make sure everyone's ok. For all we know, all of Pack is dead except for us."

The Omega followed the Alpha inside the walled community. All of the pack seemed to be there and alive. Several of the wolves looked injured, but they were all alive and still in existence, which was a relief. If there were any deaths or zaps out of existence, it would be pinned on Mario as the Alpha of the pack. He was ok with that. He was ready to take any responsibility.

Finally, Mario spotted the important ones: Relena, DX, Hannah, and Brick. The four of them were grouped at the totem poles, sitting on the ground. Brick and DX were comparing scars, Hannah was checking for rips in her clothes and Relena...Relena was just sitting there, head in her hands.

The Alpha and the Omega went up to their friends. Xylo said, "Hey guys."

"Hey," Brick and DX said in unison.

Mario counted and realized there was one missing. 

"Relena, where's the pup?"

Bryan had been with Relena during the battle. Seeing as he was so little, he could barely control his abilities and to have someone looking after him for the fight. Relena had been charged with that duty.

She finally looked up. Her eyes were wet with tears.

"T-T-T-They..."

"Who? The Hunt?"

She nodded. 

"What happened, Relena?" Xylo said gently.

"The Hunt...a huge group of them...t-t-they came after me and Bryan...I couldn't take them all on and B-Bryan t-tried to help me...they knocked me down and grabbed him...then they rode off..."

The other five stared at her. She buried her face in her hands again.

"They...they kidnapped him?!" Mario shouted.

Xylo grabbed Mario's arm. "Alpha..."

"I don't have time for this, Xylo!"  Mario yelled. "The pack pup is gone! Kidnapped! Gone!"

"Mario, it was planned."

"What are you talking about?"

"Remember what the leader said? "Grab the back-up plan." Bryan was their back-up plan. He was the last resort in case they failed to kill us."
