My Stepbrother Is My Mate?!

Prologue

Narrator's POV

She was running through the woods in her wolf form with a bundle blanket with a baby inside with her mouth.
It was raining with thunder clashing, she never looked back not slowing down one bit. She crossed onto the borders of another wolf territory but she was halted by one of the wolf guards.

She whimpered trying to mind-link two of her closest friends, Finn and Clara. The wolf guards let her through showing her the way but one stood behind to keep watch for anyone who might be following

Clara opened the door to a drenched Elizabeth with a wailing baby in her arms in her human form.
"Elizabeth" Clara gasped and pulled her in quickly telling her husband to get some clean clothes and some towels for her to dry off.

"I had to get away Clara, he was too much" Elizabeth said in a shaky breath, shivering when Finn came back with clean clothes and towels. "Why all of a sudden, what was so different this time" Finn asked in his stern-worried voice.

After Liz dried herself off, she looked up and both Clara and Finn gasp at her face seeing bruises on her face. Finn growled almost losing his temper wanting to go after Liz husband to beat the shit out of him.

"Richard hasn't been himself, I knew there had to be something wrong and before I knew it, it was too late to fix anything!" She started to sob while Clara held her closely trying to calm her down when they heard her wailing again. Finn went to pick Maya up as he rocked her.

"I can't have her anywhere near that monster, she needs to be here if you guys don't mind" she looked up at them but the next words were shocking "I have to hide, I need to work something out to figure out how to get my husband back to normal. He's cursed and isn't himself, he knows the brutal way of lifting it..."

She looked at Maya with tears and then looked down at her necklace that shone a blue crystal wrapped in silver wires with thorns on it. She unclasp the necklace and held Clara's hand, and putting it in closing her hand "Please keep this safe and keep her identity a secret, her wolf and witch life until she is ready. A new last name, yours even. I want her to look up to you and Finn as her parents. By the time she turns eighteen it's up to you and Finn to decide if she's ready to hear about her mother and father" Liz says sadly and getting up to get ready to leave.

Clara and Finn exchanged some few words through mind-link talking it out wondering what to do but after ten minutes of a few sighs and grunts, they looked at Elizabeth "We will raise her until you come back" Clara says with a warm smile.

Elizabeth smiled as tears welled up in her eyes looking down at her daughter and taking her out of Finn's arms leaning down "I love you my sweet little Maya, momma will be back and she will fix this no matter what" she kisses her daughter's forehead, her voice breaking. 

Then she started chanting in a different language waving her hand around Maya as she looked up with her blue eyes sparkling. After her chanting, a hint of blue glow started swirling around her and then a lock and key appeared. The key going into the lock, turning it then everything poofed!

"Her powers are securely locked inside of her until she turns 18 she will need to learn how to control her powers" Liz says looking at both of her close friends. "If it goes out of control, he will be able to find her, please keep her safe"

She hands her to Clara as she stood turning around, but looked back smiling sadly pulling her black robe hood on and disappears out the door.
