Chapter 4 - Declan & Maya

Declan

Seeing her walk hurriedly away from me without looking back at me hurt me a bit, even more so I knew she's avoiding me!

You mean us you numbskull, my wolf pointed out annoyingly

I sighed shaking my head, walking to my next class. I couldn't shake off my possessive self when it comes to Maya. Though it was interesting in the least that Jace was a human.

Yet he was interested in our mate Declan! You saw how he held onto her when we scared her! Kai growled losing his edge

Relax Kai, no one's gonna touch her not when we're around her I snickered thinking I'm doing this as her 'stepbrother'

Classes passed by in a blur and I couldn't stop thinking about Declan's odd behavior. I snapped out of my thoughts when Jae came in linking her arm with mine as we head to lunch in the cafeteria.

"You know Declan's been acting weird lately" I tried to sound casual about it while looking around for Noah and spotted him waving us over by the corner sitting at our usual spot. "Weird how?" Jae asked questioningly. I shrugged as we got to our table, "Just very clingy I guess? He scared off a new student and guy friend I made during chemistry" I rolled my eyes.

"Oh really" she dragged her word out looking away as if it seems she knew something. I nodded and sat down on Noah's lap as he kissed my cheek. "Do I hear someone making a guy friend?" He quirked his eyebrow and empathized on the word friend while I rolled my eyes.

"Relax Noah, you're the only one for me" I pecked his lips when I heard a growl, I looked around but didn't see anything. Huh weird but when I looked at Noah, his eyes were over to the other side of the cafeteria. On someone. Ella James. Though she was with Declan.

I see Ella looking our way but it seemed strange the way she was looking at us...looking at Noah? I made a strange face when I saw Declan whispering in Ella's ear which she smiled and giggled pecking his lips. I'll admit once again, that hurt me a lot...I really need to get over myself. Over Declan Period

I took Noah's hand making him look at me, "Hey is everything alright?" Seeing him look at Ella and Declan was strange when I thought he didn't associate with them. "Sorry babe I got lost into thinking" he scratched his head which was a habit he does when he was lying.  Then he seemed to be in thought, a long one when he decided to get up, "I gotta go, sorry babe I'll catch you later yeah?" He smiled and kissed my cheek but ran off before I could say anything.

For some reason I feel something is very off with Noah when Jae nudged me. "What was that" she asked as she ate her lunch and I just looked on where he ran. "I don't know Jae, but I feel a dreadful feeling in the pit of my stomach" Jae remained quiet and I just sat there eating my food thinking what just happened.
