Chapter 5 - Declan

The long moment that happened during lunch was endearing and I mean it not in a good way. I tried to hold Ella back before she rips Maya apart and takes Noah away. Not that she has a problem with Maya, its just her and her wolf don't like seeing their mate in someone else's arms.

I got Ella to keep up the act of being my girlfriend by showing how lovey dovey we are but I could tell on Maya face she was hurt, I could feel it. Well not feel it yet but I know she has a thing for me, a long not so secretive love for me yet I had to do it in front of her to keep the norm going.

Ella and I left the cafeteria but not long after that Noah caught up and I knew he was gonna take Ella and "talk things out" which leads me to wondering how Maya is doing...what she's thinking at the moment when Noah isn't being so discreet with his actions!

"Noah! You. Are. Not. Doing. Your. Job." I said with frustration rubbing my face and seeing Noah and Ella just completely ignoring my presence all together. I shook my head walking away not bothering to get through them. It's understandable when it comes to mates but I can't risk the secrets to be out too early.

Declan, don't worry I'll be discreet as possible as I can be, I just can't help feel Ella and her wolf's feelings that I had to reassure her. He mind link me but I sighed again just walking away.

When school finally ended, I waited outside leaning against my car waiting for Maya to come out so I take her home. When she came out through the front doors, she was talking with that Jace guy and it made my blood boiled.

I want to rip him to shreds! Kai growled not liking this little prick near our mate

I took a deep breath calming my wolf down and decided to turn around and honk my car horn which made Maya jump and look my way. Smirking at her when she rolled her eyes.

Roll your eyes all you want baby, I will turn that annoyance into melting at the sight of me. I thought to myself waiting for her to come to me then Jae came in linking her arms with her.

Maya was whispering in Jae's ear and me being an ass I can't help use my wolf hearing as I look down at my shoes.

"Can't you get Cole to drive us?" I can hear the plea in her voice. Still trying to get away from me huh.

"No Maya, stop I know he can be an ass but its not the end of the world to be in the same car with him" she said rolling her eyes I know for sure, I'll get you for that little sis.

I looked up and smirked looking at Maya when she rolled her eyes again but looked down smiling to herself I can see through her hair that covered her face.

I impusively reached out my hand out wanting to brush the hair away from her face but held back smiling. "Sup sis and step sis" I empathize as I got in the car driver siden

"Nothing much big bro, just another boring day at school and I just can't wait for the weekend!" She cheered enthusiastically. Maya stayed quiet and didn't budge to join in the conversation through the whole ride.

I was doing Beta duties helping my dad out with the pack but through mind-link. The pack house is isn't far from us but deep in the woods, I'd say maybe 15 minute walk from our school but I couldn't risk being away too much that'll get Maya wondering why.

Finishing the discussion with my dad I decided to go check on Maya. I can't seem to stay away from her even though I told myself I would but my bond with her is pulling stronger as it gets close to her transition...

I knocked on her door and nothing came about so I turned the knob to see she fallen asleep on her bed with her books and homework laid out. I chuckled lowly and went in to clean up her mess so she can get more comfortable.

Clearing away her books I couldn't help look at her face, sleeping peacefully. God she's cute when she sleeps I think to myself, I brush a strand of her hair away from her face admiring her features. "You got that right man." Kai said dreamingly. "Can't wait to see her wolf" he purred in my head I chuckled but looked down at Maya seeing she was watching me. Shit!

"Um...I was just-" I was cut off when Maya reached up and grabbed my face and pulled me down smashing her lips on mine. Holy fuck! I responded quickly and felt the sparks going through my body from this kiss. I couldn't hold back when I started to climb on top of her, one hand on the back of her neck and the other in her hair. She moaned and groaned in our kiss which made my little friend down there hard. She was so lost in our deep hot kiss, she felt my hard on which caused her to pulled away breathless.

Her eyes were heated but then widened at what just happened. "Holy shit, I'm sorry I-" she pushed me away alittle and got up off the bed. "I'm sorry I don't know why I did that" she was panicking and was pacing around. I was in a dazed but at the same time knew she was thinking twice about it. I cleared my throat.

"No I'm sorry I let it happen, it was my fault and I shouldn't have kissed back. In fact I was just coming in to check on you but I should've let you be" I was killing myself for saying these words but soon it won't matter when her birthday comes. She looked at me but her expression was unreadable. "Let's forget this ever happened" I ended the conversation walking out of the room quickly.

I didn't want to show my emotions in front of her saying those as I sighed frustratingly leaning on her door framed when I closed it.

Damn this is gonna be hard and now awkward between us..
