"And?"
Taehyung rolled his eyes, swirling the keys around his finger as he walked with his friend on the sidewalk. "Simple, he took the bait. It's pathetic how fast he accepted Jungkook. Truth be told, I expected him to be wary, but apparently his parents didn't teach him 'stranger danger', or whatever." Taehyung air-quoted with his fingers, the younger male jogging over to the sleek black car on the passenger side.
Jimin hummed, opening the driver's door and getting in the vehicle, shutting the door tightly. He paused, thumb in between his teeth. "Do we know the detective in charge of the case? And do they still suspect it as a simple robbery?"
Taehyung shrugged, clicking his seatbelt in. "Seokjin's working on that with a few guys as we speak. He wanted me to run by you and ask-"
"Why didn't he come to me directly?" Jimin interjected, the space between his brows creased as he stared at Taehyung. This was unusual, unless Seokjin was mad.
Taehyung clicked his tongue, shaking his head. "He has a lot on his mind and I saw him before he left." Was all he said before he reached into the glove box, pulling out the stored pistol and checking for bullets. "As I was saying, he wanted permission to bug a few of the police. Including the captain."
The elder made a noise of agreement, turning on the car and quickly moving out of his parking space. Which, wasn't exactly a real parking space, but that was irrelevant.
"I want you to check in with Jungkook every time he's with Aron. On the off chance he figures out Jungkook is undercover, I want back up. I need someone to run an in-depth background check on Aron, I don't trust his 'dumb' aura. And- are you writing this down?" Jimin glanced over at Taehyung before returning his eyes to the road, pulling out of the lot and onto one of the back roads.
Rolling his eyes again, Taehyung shook his head 'no'. Because why the hell did he need to? The last thing they need is their plans in writing, fuck no.
"Whatever." Jimin breathed out, bringing his hand to rub the back of his neck as he waited for the red light to turn green. Impatiently, Jimin stepped on the gas, running the light. And just his luck. "Before anything else, we have to visit- oh fucking hell."
Taehyung snorted when he saw the red and blue flashing lights behind them, though it was really just him trying to contain his annoyance. "Pull over." Taehyung grabbed his gun, leaning forward in his seat and shoving it in the back of his jeans.
Jimin glared at him, shaking his head. "I'm not pulling-"
"I said pull-"
"I'm not fucking pulling over! Taehyung, this is-"
"We can just take him out, I'm not having my face plastered everywhere. You can have yours on every billboard, but not mine." Taehyung snapped, pulling a mask over the lower part of his face. What he said wasn't even close to true, actually. He wouldn't let anyone put Jimin's face on the news.
They'd be murdered if they did.
It was a known fact the two men were close. In fact, Jimin's five friends were his close friends and his most trusted subordinates. Although he did trust all of them, those were the ones he could count on to carry out his most important tasks.
That didn't mean they didn't have flaws. Jimin could name them all off of his head. Taehyung had a temper, Seokjin didn't give a fuck for his life, Hoseok didn't trust nearly anyone, Namjoon hated being in actual action, despite being amazing with guns, and Jungkook goofed off way too damn much.
All of those flaws had gotten them in trouble at some point, but that didn't change the fact that Jimin loved and trusted them all.
Jimin bit the inside of his lip, stepping hard on the gas. "Not yet."
•
"So you're saying we can't?" Seokjin crossed his arms, bringing his face close to the male's. "Shi-yoon, listen to me carefully. We're going to get in there, whether that involves someone dying or not." Which, of course, wasn't true. To get someone killed while doing this mission was to expose yourself.
Shi-yoon laughed humorlessly, lightly pushing Seokjin out of the way by his shoulder, completely ignoring him. He clapped his hands, getting the attention of the people in the room. "Alright, listen up everyone-"
Seokjin shoved his pistol against the back of Shi-yoon's head, removing the safety, making the elder male pause. According to Jimin, he was running this operation. Not Shi-yoon.
Whenever Shi-yoon and Seokjin were paired to work together on something, a disagreement or a fight occurred. They didn't get along. At all.
Shi-yoon slowly turned around, wrapping his hand around the barrel of the gun and moving it to his heart. "May I continue?"
Seokjin scoffed, putting safety back on and holstering the pistol back on his thigh, pushing Shi-yoon out of his way. "This has to be quick and precise, am I understood? Everyone knows their positions, and if you don't- I don't know where you've been, but wakey wakey baby, time to open your eyes. Group one, get moving, we don't have all day."
As soon as Seokjin finished, a large group of men and women began shuffling their feet out the door, making sure to shut it behind them. Seokjin smiled proudly, happy they weren't taking after Shi-yoon's awful antics.
Speaking of Shi-yoon.. Said male handed Seokjin his burner phone, not saying another word before he walked off to look out the window. Ah. Shit.
He cleared his throat, answering the call while he kept his other ear open for the distraction. "Taehyung."
"Seokjin, Jimin said it's ok-"
"Okay, well I'm actually in the middle of-"
"Don't fucking cut me off, it's disrespectful." Taehyung snapped into the phone, Jimin's soft laughter in the background. A small inhale. "..but it's fine. How is the operation going?"
Seokjin chuckled, ignoring Shi-yoon's kissy noises behind him. He was going to get slapped. "In the middle of it. I'll see you in a bit, I'm busy."
"Alright." Taehyung breathed out.
Seokjin tossed the phone back over to Shi-yoon, smiling widely as he clapped his hands again. "Group two, get out of my sight, please and thank you!"
