CHAPTER 6: The bastards took my Baby...SELEE OUT OF THE SHADDOWS!!!

December 24th, 1987 7 9PM: The seedy Club that is SELEE HQ

Keel paced impatiently. He sent Kaworu on a specific mission to silence any cops that might interfere with the sale of the drugs that had been delivered.

During the war, SELEE secretly ran everything from the shadows. It was originally known as Marduk, and they appeared on the up and up as a government run organization tasked with keeping the peace in Tokyo-3. Of course, that was just a front, and what really was going on was much more sinister. The real goings on were that of an organization benefiting from death and destruction as the war waged.

Keel was originally second in command of SELEE and he brought along with him several Mercenaries, Ex-Yakuza enforcers, and EX-PSIA officials to help with their original leader's goals.

When SELEE first started they answered to a different man, Gendo Rokobungi. As cold and calculating as a person could be, and willing to put anyone including his own family in harms way to further the goals of SELEE. However, loyalty was not thick among the company, and when the tides of the war turned in favor of the Resistance (Note: please see chapter 1 to get the 411 on what happened), Keel was quick to turn on his leader.

About 2 months before the war ended Keel put a bullet in the back of Gendo's skull. He pitched it as a suicide, and with a generous payoff to the local and national newspapers the public ate it up. Afterwards there were reports of Keel's suicide as well, and the war came to an end with a decisive victory for the free people of Tokyo-3. OR so they thought...

Keel bided his time in the shadows, letting the public think he was dead and with the cunning Kaworu Nagisa at his side, had built the drug empire that was pumping Tokyo-3 full of the narcotics. It also made Keel insanely rich, which only gave him more sway over local politicians, which is how he kept his whereabouts a secret.

Keel had met Kozu when he was assigned to monitor the progress with SELEE company. Kozu's company was a perfect front for the illegal dealings, and of course the older man was rewarded handsomely for his efforts. But his friendship with Kaji had now jeopardized the whole operation. Keel knew he had to put a stop to anymore investigations from the police and he sent his best man to take care of the nuisance once and for all.

December 24th, 1987: Tokyo-3 Downtown 9PM

Shinji walked through the apparently empty streets, as he lit up a cigarette. It was another rainy night, and it was coming down full force. It didn't bother him, he was on a mission and he wasn't going to be deterred.

He glanced around and continued to wander as his eyes fell on an intended target. To his left sat a most lovely young lady, obviously a prostitute but still Shinji had an itch and he needed it scratched... he approached the young lady with a smile

"So what's a nice girl like you doing out here tonight?" he inquired as the prostitute just smiled at him Shinji pulled out a photo of Akira as he began to question the young lady.

"SO I'm looking for a guy had this girl in his employ... do you know her?" The prostitute took the picture from Shinji and just shook her head.

"Nah I ain't never seen her before..." Shinji just narrowed his eyes at her and continued to ask questions
