CHAPTER 3: YOU REALLY ARE CRAZY!!!

December 22nd, 1987: 2 PM Tokyo-3 Trust building...

Sirens blared throughout downtown Tokyo-3. A crime scene had been taped off, and a crowd had gathered at the base of the famous building to watch if the person at the top would really take his own life. The officers on scene were trying to get people to move along to secure the perimeter & also prevent anyone from getting hurt. Things were going smoothly, as soon as Shinji & Kaji arrived, pulling up to the curb which had been sectioned off.

The man on the ledge of the building was about 40 years old with greying hair, and a stubble goatee. He wore a black suit with white shirt, and black tie.

The officer on the scene saw Kaji's patrol car pull up, and went to greet the Sergeant with the details...

"Oh thank God you're here Kaji." One officer stated

"Skip the pleasantries who is this guy and what's his deal?" Kaji questioned

"He's a former Ramen owner in the city. Things went sour a few weeks ago, had to close down his business, and now he's threatening to jump." The Officer replied

"Odds he's actually gonna jump?" Kaji asked

"don't know... things go bad and it is that time of year right Kaji?" the Officer answered.

Kaji huffed as he began to think of ways on how to prevent another suicide from happening. Shinji spoke up with an idea,

"I can handle this Kaj." Shinji said "I've done it before..."

"Well it'll save me the trouble..." Kaji responded to Shinji,

"OK you've got it. But listen." Kaji grabbed Shinji by the arm and pulled him close "No Guns, no crazy Karate, no hand to hand combat, just bring him down ok?"

"yeah yeah I got it..." Shinji retorted as he took off up the building to talk to the potential jumper.

In almost no time he'd reached the man at the top of the structure, where the wind was wipping at a high speed causing his hair to sway a bit. Being 100 percent honest, Shinji really had no formal training on jumpers but figured as a person who had struggled recently with depression, maybe he could help the guy out a bit. Personally, he just didn't want things to get too out of hand before the actual psychologist arrived on the scene. He approached the man in calm but commanding manner and spoke.

"Merry Christmas..." Shinji greeted the man cheerfully

"GET OUTTA HERE LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" the Man barked back clearly on the edge (NO PUN INTENDED)

"Why are you doin' this?" Shinji questioned, not sure of how to handle a person this severely out of whack.

"NONE OF YOUR GODDAMNED BUSINESS!!!! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE." The man once again shouted, trying to get away from the situation

"Fair enough... But I'm just gonna come out and..." Shinji began but was quickly interrupted

"YOU COME OUT HERE AND I'LL JUMP I SWEAR!!!" the man shouted again. Shinji began to get frustrated and developed a plan on the fly. He wasn't sure if it would work, but he had to get this screaming lunatic off the building.
