In the span of the few days Error had stayed in your household, he had come to the realization that you were excellent at cooking.
He was not.
The skeleton watched as you poured homemade batter into muffin pans, humming a joyful tune as you placed them in the oven.
Grabbing a pan, you cracked several eggs into perfect halves, tossing the eggshells in the trashcan before scrambling them. When you had finished the eggs, you poured them in a bowl and set it aside, slipping oven mitts on.
The fifteen minute oven timer alerted you that the main course was finished baking as you grabbed the tray and placed it on the stovetop.
You washed the dishes you had made in wait for the food to cool, but still had time to spare. You sat down on one of the swivel kitchen counter chairs, across the counter from the destroyer. You smiled, your attention on the food. You failed to notice Error looking at you.
The male skeleton was completely and utterly confused. Why did the food look so good? Why did it smell so good? Why did it make him hungry for food other than chocolate? How did you make it so fast? What was that yellow thing you just cooked?
Although he had many questions, Error silently prayed that you wouldn't look at him. He didn't want attention, he just wanted answers. Answers to all the questions on what, how, and why you cooked.
Feeling like you were being watched, you turned to the destroyer, noticing his facial expression.
"What's wrong? Do you need something?" You asked politely, soiling his hopes of not being questioned.
Error suddenly didn't want answers, the attention getting the better of him. It made him uneasy, as to be expected from soemone who never recieved much in the first place.
The skeleton looked down, eyelights trained on the ground. He silently pointed at the food, mumbling inaudibly.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you. Could you speak up?" You asked, tilting your head.
Error repeated what he said, slightly louder, yet still too quiet to be heard.
"Umm, you're still talking too quietly. Come again?" You asked, trying to figure out what he had just said.
The destroyer shifted in his seat, lowering his skull until most of his face was hidden in the shirt. He grabbed the shirt's hem and started subconsciously fiddling with it.
"ErR, whAt iS thAt?" He questioned, voice hushed as he nodded towards the food.
"Oh, um, it's just some chocolate chip muffins and eggs." You explained.
"eEeEeeGgs?"
"Yes? Would you like some?" You offered, grabbing the eggs and muffins.
Upon placing the bowl of eggs in front of the skeleton, he backed up in his seat, eyelights locked on them.
"Umm, Error, are you okay?" You asked, not quite understanding what he was doing.
Now that the yellow object had been placed in closer to him, Error was able to see it in detail, rather than it simply looking like fluffy yellow clouds as it did before. Up close, the foreign item looked . . . strange. Otherworldly, even.
"wHo aRe yOu aNd wHAt aRe yOuR moTiVeS?" He asked, facing the bowl.
Because eggs are inanimate, they did not respond.
"AnsWEr mE."
The eggs stayed still.
"i'M nOt pLaYiNg aRoUnD, iF yOu dOn'T rEsPoNd, I mAY hAvE tO rEsOrT tO uNpLeAsAnT mEthOdS oF mAkInG yOu tAlK." He growled, poking the eggs tentatively.
