When she woke up, her clothes were still damp from sweat. The tears on her cheeks had dried and she felt like the world was spinning around her.
It had been actually a few times that Mary had helped her change clothes, it was a shame that almost all of what they purchased had only been drowned in blood or ripped into pieces because of Raven.
The chains of silver around her body were removed but she could feel the slight sting of it.
Raven grabbed the cup of water by the nightstand and gulped greedily. Her room was a mess, claw marks were left on various items and the blood stained the walls and floors. She felt like she drank a lot of alcohol, not having to remember half of what happened.
Mary entered the room. "How are you feeling?"
"Fine." Raven lied, letting out a breath. Her head pounded and her body wasn't recovered from the self inflicted pain and wounds.
"You should rest." It sounded more of an order than a suggestion.
"I still have a lot to do and Alpha Duke James deserves answers, he didn't know I found my mate." Raven replied.
"Gabriel is unconscious." Raven's eyes went wide, shock filled her. Before she asked questions, Mary continued. "The Alpha Duke knocked him out himself. An Alpha male cannot be contained with the urgency of the situation last night and with the strong relationship you two have, it was harder to keep him under control but his condition is stable, he's fine."
"We have to go and visit him, then." Raven replied.
"I don't think someone can stop you even if I urge you to stay."
"I'll just sneak out if you tried." She mused and laughed.
"That's what I thought, the pack doctor advises that someone shall accompany you throughout the day. You don't have enough energy to move around, don't stress yourself too much."
She shrugged then nodded. There was too much to handle on her list anyways, Raven wondered if Nixon had felt the mate bond last night. Atleast if the rumor of her in heat got around then that would only mean she wasn't pregnant.
Mary helped her get dressed and eat breakfast before they bought flowers and food then visited the pack hospital for Gabriel.
It reeked of rubbing alcohol and cold medicine, the pack hospital was quiet large and most patients included humans that had adequate knowledge of the werewolf and supernatural kind.
They found Gabriel's room and the Alpha Duke was already inside, writing files on his hands.
"You're awake." Mary stated happily to Gabriel as they took seats.
"Thought I lost or killed you for a moment there." Raven said and they laughed. There were flowers beside the hospital bed and letters piled for their next-in-line Alpha Duke.
"I'm hard to get rid of, what can I say?" Gabriel grinned before turning serious. "Would you care to explain how the hell did my best friend meet her mate and went to heat last night?"
Raven sighed. "I met him at the Royal pack the day we arrived. Neither of us decided to reject the other but we came to terms that both of us weren't for each other."
"Love takes time, child. It could take years before you find someone worth fighting for but you have to give it a chance. It was too soon when I lost my mate, I thought that it was the end of a romantic relationship for me." Alpha Duke James replied as he laced his hand with Mary's. "But then comes the unexpected."
