As the streams of sunlight came, Collins and Raven had excused themselves from breakfast.
Both of them had some important matters to attend to.
She dressed elegantly but left her long hair down. A sapphire pendant lies on her chest that matched her earrings. Raven would have to face Mark's wrath once he found out they were nearly caught by their enemy.
On the other hand, she could only imagine his rage if he knew that she had been venturing in an old tunic.
He did, after all, asked someone to bring the expensive and upbringing clothes that barely fitted the closet. Raven shivered slightly, it was frightening to what length one man has to prepare them.
Her arm had healed but it left scars to add in her collection.
More guests had arrived and they were high-ranked werewolves from society. Raven greeted them as she went to Gabriel's room and knocked.
"Raven." He opened the door and smelled fresh out of bath. "I was worried."
"Would you escort me to the banquet?" She asked and he nodded. Gabriel wore a dark coat over his tunic, a sheathed sword on his buckle and she was sure he was carrying a dagger with him.
Raven entangled her arm with his and they walked to the balcony. The morning light streamed in from the large windows, giving them a perfect view of the garden. "What happened after I left?"
"Guards arrived and the guests were asked to go back to their respective rooms safely. Collins announced that a criminal had escaped." He said.
"Did they tell you about the massacre of wolves?" She asked through a whisper as if casually asking the weather and Gabriel looked at her, bewildered. When there was no signs of distress on Raven's expression, he only shook his head and assumed it was already under her control.
"No." There were few people in the hallway, heading towards the banquet.
"There's a slight change of plans since he is not our suspect." She stated. "How about I tell you when the guests are allowed to roam the village? We may have to pay my mate a visit. The twins could come with us."
"Yes." They attended the banquet. Although it is early in the morning, the people were rejoicing and Raven met a few more people. Some she was familiar with but dare not mention that the woman they are talking with had infiltrated their pack one time or another.
It mostly consisted of professional conversations and plans before the banquet ended. The guests were allowed to roam the castle grounds. This included the barracks and training grounds if some were interested in looking over the routines or even have a match for themselves.
No better way to show off skills in front of a regal family and open up opportunities that might allow them to move into high-ranked packs or form allies with them.
The village were filled with decorations, pack members danced at the the heart of its foundation. Musicians brought all kinds of instruments, its melody was more joyous and free than what the people inside the castle had provided.
Gabriel, Mark, and Raven went over. Gavin had to stay back to keep an eye on her room at the castle while Marcus has to hide in the barracks to be able to become a body-double.
Although people knew of the Viscount twins, they didn't know that one of them was covering for the other on occasions. It was another advantage they had.
They arrived at Gavin's house, the road secluded compared to the festive gathering. Raven introduced Matilda as she welcomed them in their home. Gabriel and Mark looked around.
