The spent the night playing a game together before going to bed. Honoka really enjoyed herself. Hitomi too. They shared a room together.
They woke up the next morning with a little difficulty. Honoka groggily sat up on her bed. Hitomi had to pull her out of bed to get breakfast.
They were gonna have a celebration that night. A celebration for Kasumi's return.
"No there's no need for that," Kasumi said, refusing. "It's my fault I ran away."
"No we need to celebrate," said Shiden. "Hayate, as leader of the clan, make preparations for it."
"Yes sir!" Hayate said with a salute. "I will work on it right away."
"And I will help," said Ryu. "Lead the way, leader of Tenjinmon!"
"Seriously?" Hayate said, leaving the house to announce the celebration.
They announced the celebration and Shiden and Ayame made preparations at their home. Kasumi went to her garden and found it just the way it was before she left.
"I took care of it while you were away," said Ayame. "I even planted more flowers for you. See the roses? And those hydrangeas?"
"Thanks, mother," Kasumi said, hugging her mother. "I'm very sorry I left. I shouldn't have left!"
"It's okay, Kasumi," Ayame said, hugging back. "Any good sister would've done that for her brother."
Kasumi nodded and walked around the garden. She sat on the swing.
"This was my favourite hangout spot," said Kasumi. "Still is. This is my true home."
"Yes," Ayame said, sitting with her daughter. "Our true home."
"Okay the I've done the preparations for the celebration," said Hayate, coming in with Ayane. "It's gonna be grand."
"I told the Hajinmon sect too," said Ayane. "It's gonna be really big!"
"You know what?" Hayate said. "The festival performers are also coming. So we have a bonus extra day!"
"Really?" Kasumi asked, excited. "Yay! I really enjoyed last night and I'm glad they're performing again."
"You're the star of the show," said Ayame. "Don't ever leave again."
"I won't, mother," said Kasumi. "Well, maybe I will. But only to visit my friends."
"We'll gladly come with you, then," said Hayate. "Especially if you wanna go to the Hayabusa clan."
"Speaking of which, it's been a long time since I met Momiji," said Kasumi. "Is she coming too?"
"You bet she is," said Hayabusa, coming in. "I sent them a messenger."
"Your falcon?" Hayate asked and Ryu nodded. "I haven't seen it in ages!"
"I left it with Irene," said Ryu. "She sent it back to me when I came here."
"So it's with you now?" Kasumi asked. "Can I see it? I love that falcon!"
"It's with Momiji," said Ryu. "She'll come with the falcon."
"Yay!" Kasumi said excitedly. "Thanks Ryu!"
"Uhh... you're welcome?" Ryu said, confused.
"Dude, you still don't know?" Ayane asked. "Come here, buddy, I'll tell you."
"Okay?" Hayabusa said, still confused.
Ayane brought him into the house and told him.
"She has a crush on you too," said Ayane. "You never knew?"
"Not really..." Ryu said sheepishly. "I had a crush on her too..."
"You IDIOT!" Ayane shouted and punched him. "No wonder you were more protective of Kasumi than Hayate-sama!"
"Hey, I was just doing my job!" Ryu said. "Just because he cared about some 'code', I can't just let you kill her!"
"Fine, whatever," Ayane said, annoyed. "Anyway, let me tell you now. Beware of Hayate-sama, and Master Shiden."
With that, she just left. Ryu heard someone clear his throat. It was Hayate.
"Uh oh..." Ryu said, realising what Hayate was gonna do. "Well... bring it on!"
"That's not why I'm here," said Hayate. "You listen here, buddy. If I ever see my Kasumi as much as to just shed a tear because of you, your head is gonna go."
"Don't worry, Hayate," said Ryu. "I'll be a good boyfriend. Don't worry."
"That's what I wanna hear," said Hayate. "Anyway, come, help me with the celebration."
And it was settled. Both families had approved their relationship.
That night, there was a really big festival at the Mugen-Tenshin leaders' home. It was big and grand.
"Momiji!" Kasumi exclaimed, hugging her friend. "You made it! You brought Ryu's falcon!"
"Of course I did," said Momiji. The falcon had flown away to find it's master. "Ooh he must be looking for Ryu."
"Yeah he's over there, with Hayate," said Kasumi. "Anyway, whatever happened to Hayabusa's curio shop?"
"Irene is helping to take care of it," said Momiji. "Anyway, is it true? I heard that you and Ryu are dating!"
"The word spread off that fast?" Kasumi asked, shocked. "But yeah. My family approved, and the Hayabusas approved long before, according to Ryu, that is."
"Well, it's actually true," said Momiji. "Master Ryu had already told Great Master Jô. And, he approved!"
"Really?" Kasumi asked, surprised. "That sneaky ninja!"
"Well he is a ninja after all," said Momiji. "Well, we're kunoichis too..."
"Momiji!" Ayane said, calling them to her table. "How are you doing?"
"Oh I'm good," said Momiji, sitting down with Kasumi. "Kasumi on the other hand..."
"Seriously, your master couldn't take the hint at first," Ayane said, annoyed. "I had to tell him!"
"And Hayate-Niisan had to warn him," Kasumi said with a giggle. "Father too."
"But he looks okay now," said Ayane. "I'm sure he'll be a good husband in the future. Right Kasumi? Hmm?"
"Ayane, stop!" Kasumi said, embarrassed. "Momiji, you should've seen the way she looks at Eliot."
"Well, he would be great too if it wasn't for that stupid drunk always tagging along," Ayane said with a frown. "I think I'll have to eliminate him."
"Ayane!" Kasumi and Momiji both exclaimed.
"Hey I was just joking!" Ayane said. "But that drunk is ruining his life. Don't you think?"
"That's true," said Kasumi. "Maybe we can set him up."
"Now that's an idea," said Momiji. "But I don't think I've met any single ladies younger than Nyotengu. That guy must be at least fifty!"
"Momiji, he's only in his early thirties," said Ayane. "That drunk aged badly..."
"Darn," Momiji said, surprised. "Well, he isn't gonna get any girl for being such a drunk."
"Well... what about Nyotengu?" Kasumi said with a giggle. "They both love liquor."
"She isn't even human," said Ayane. "Don't worry, he'll find someone."
"I know!" Kasumi exclaimed suddenly. "Diana!"
"You said we shouldn't kill him?" Ayane said. "Like, he's gonna get his head chopped off by her. And I don't want that drunk anywhere near Kula."
"Okay who's Diana?" Momiji asked. "And who's Kula?"
"Oh yeah we forgot that she doesn't know," said Ayane. "Okay, Momiji. You see, Diana and Kula are our friends from the King of Fighters Tournament. You know Mai? Mai Shiranui?"
"Yeah?" Momiji said. "Wait, Kula is that blue-haired kid with ice powers right? I saw that NiCO girl messing around with her. But who's Diana?"
They explained to her the whole story from the beginning. Momiji was kinda lost, but they patiently told her again, over some drinks and desserts.
Honoka joined them, holding plates piled high with food.
"What did I miss?" Honoka asked, sitting with them, grinning. "I brought snacks for everyone. Oh did I interrupt something?"
"Nah you didn't," said Kasumi. "Anyway, thanks for the snacks."
"What are you doing here?" Momiji asked. "Kasumi, I thought this clan was secret?"
"She's our cousin," said Kasumi, eating some mochi. "You didn't know?"
"She's my half-sister, actually," said Ayane. "Momiji, you're so outdated..."
"But Hitomi?" Momiji said, pointing to Hitomi who was sitting with Hayate. "Well, no comment on that one..."
"Yeah it's a long story," said Kasumi. "All those story telling made me hungry."
"Here, have some!" Honoka said, pushing a plate to Ayane. "I brought it for all of us!"
