Pride goes before a fall, Nma never believed that a day would come that she would admit this. Over a million times has she heard this saying but not once did she imagine that she was been spoken to all along. Her ego has been trampled upon by a thousand feet, all taking turns to break her to bits, sticking out their tongues like immature children. One thing was certain, SHE DESERVED IT.
"I will not take this" Nma screamed at her secretary, whose head is now in a slight bow in fear of her looking in the face of her boiling boss. "I pay you enough to do a flawless job. This is the second time you are a making a mistake this year and this is like what? June!!!" She flings the file she was holding towards her secretary's direction."You had one simple task, fix an appointment with Chief Isiagwu in my schedule so we could finalise the contract and what did you do? Absolutely nothing!!! I do not pay my staffs to be incompetent" Nma huffed before taking a her seat, her head still not clear enough to continue what she was earlier working on before she received that aggravating phone call. She looks up at her secretary in disgust, thinking to herself if she had lost the contract then this dimwit would most definitely not be standing here right now.
"I don't have time for interviews and assessment for someone who is competent enough to handle the minor job I give to you, or else I could have kissed your sorry ass good bye. This is your last chance, one more mess up and you will be fired. Do I make myself clear?"...... "Yes ma" Jane now fiddling with the files that were earlier thrown at her, still unable to raise her head because she knew for sure that the heat in the room was due to the lasers Nma was shooting from her eyes. "Squeeze in Chief Isiagwu in my tomorrow's schedule and tell Thomas that I shouldn't have to call him before he gives me the report on today's sight seeing. You can now use the door" Nobody needed to tell Jane how to make use of her legs, she knows that Nma is capable of firing her not leaving the room fast enough. However she let the Chief Isiagwu slip her mind na she sabi.
