"Adrien, it's about time for supper," Nathalie said. Marinette and Adrien jumped away from each other as she walked into the room. Adrien sighed annoyingly because she had interrupted the moment. Then he got an idea.

"Okay, can Marinette stay for dinner?" He asked. Nathalie thought for a minute then spoke.

"I don't see why not. I'll have the cook set an extra place at the table for her." Then she walked out of his room. Adrien and Marinette followed a few steps behind her.

"What do I say around your dad? Do we tell him that we're together or that I was here on a school project?" Marinette whispered to Adrien.

"You probably won't see him because he never has supper with me. So we don't need to worry about that," he replied. Marinette nodded as they rounded the corner and stopped in there tracks.

There at the head of the table was Gabriel Agreste. He was cutting his food, but stopped and looked up at Marinette and Adrien.

"Adrien, who is this?" Gabriel asked glancing at Marinette as he spoke.

"This is Marinette. You've met her before," Adrien said as he pulled out the chair for Marinette. She sat down and he pushed her into the table then sat down beside her.

"Father, I didn't know that you would be having supper with us," Adrien said.

"I wasn't planning on it, but when I caught word that a female friend would be staying for dinner I decided to join you two," Gabriel stated. Marinette saw Adrien roll his eyes.

"So," he continued. "What brings you to our house today, Marinette?"

"Um, I-I," she stuttered. She looked at Adrien for help. Adrien knew if he told his father that they they were together his dad would not be happy.

"She was here working on a project with me," Adrien lied. His father looked at him suspiciously, but nodded.

"Yeah," Marinette agreed. She pushed a strand of her blue hair our of her face. Gabriel studied her earrings for a second.

"Those are very nice earrings that you have," Gabriel noted. Adrien looked up at him surprised. "Mind if I have a look?"

Gabriel held out his hand, but Marinette shook her head. She put a hand on her earring and said, "These earrings are a precious heirloom and I don't want anything to happen to them."

Gabriel nodded and finished his plate. Then he excused himself and stood up.

"It was nice to meet you, Marinette," Gabriel said walking to his office door. "Oh, and make sure you take good care of those priceless earrings. You wouldn't want something bad to happen to them."

With that, he opened his office door, walked in and shut it again.

"What was that all about," Adrien asked turning his attention to Marinette.

"I don't know," she replied.

A little while later, Marinette looked out of the limo in deep thought. She couldn't get Gabriel's words out of her mind. He said that I wouldn't something bad to happen to them, she thought. Could he be Hawkmoth? No, he's a fashion designer. They probably caught his eye.

Adrien looked at Marinette and couldn't help but think of how lucky he was that his lady was also his purr-incess. He laughed inwardly at his pun. He thought about earlier when they almost kissed and how much he missed the touch of her skin. He reached out  and grabbed her hand that was resting on her leg. Marinette was jolted out of her thoughts at his touch.

Marinette looked at their intertwined hands then back up at him. She smiled and laid her head on his shoulder.

Soon they pulled up in front of the bakery that Marinette's parents owned. Adrien got out and walked around the limo to open the door.

"Ever the gentleman," Marinette joked as she rolled her eyes. She took his hand stepped out of the limo.

"Only for you, m'lady," Adrien said with a Chat Noir smirk. They walked up to the bakery doors and stopped.

Marinette turned to Adrien and said, "Thank you for supper. I had fun."

"No problem, princess. I'm sorry about the way my father acted. He can be strange sometimes."

"It's okay." Adrien was surprised when Marinette wrapped her arms around him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in closer. Marinette looked up at him and smiled a small, shy smile as she moved hands to around his neck. Adrien leaned in closer and their lips were mere inches from each other when the bakery lights came on.

Marinette and Adrien pulled apart just before Tom, Marinette's dad, opened the door. Tom stood there for a second and looked between the two kids.

"Honey, who's at the-" Sabine, Marinette's mom, stopped talking when she appeared behind Tom and saw Marinette and Adrien.

"Hello, Adrien," she said as a smile grew on her face. "Why don't you come inside."

"Oh, thank you for the offer Mrs. Cheng but I really must be going. My dad would not be happy if I came home late," Adrien said.

Sabine nodded,"Okay maybe next time and please call me Sabine."

Adrien nodded his head then said goodbye to the family. It wasn't until he was in the limo that Tom finally took his eyes off of Adrien. Marinette, embarrassed by the whole thing, excused herself and went up to her room.
