drabble 1: small things after a usual fight

they say that arguing is normal in relationships, but byulyi feels bad whenever they fight.

they rarely do, but whenever they would argue, it's about the dumbest and trivial things in their lives, sometimes their tiredness would drive their irritation, or sometimes it's the stress and unnecessary timing.

but somehow, byulyi was kind of sensitive in fights even if she never says it.

just like now, byulyi was just on her way home with her brows knitted together, throwing off her shoes as she marches inside the dark house.

she just had an argument with kim seokjin on a phone about a stupid matter in their schedule.

she occasionally argues with yongsun as well, but both of them would end up making up quickly since they feel bad after all. that's how her relationship is with seokjin as well.

letting out a snort, she tries to assume that every single 'kim' in the world has that kind of relationship with her, maybe.

now realizing that she haven't got any appetite to eat after that small fight, she immediately slips in the bed, not bothering to change her practice clothes and snuggle immediately on the pillow in her space.

the tiredness must've been too much, that's why she immediately fell asleep.

after a few more hours, byulyi hears something noisy out of the bedroom. normally, one of them will be up to greet their lover. but today was one of those days that coldness will linger in the night, she just knows that well.

both of them were too convinced with cold wars until it fades away, only to talk about it when they've finally gotten rid of their own ego. pursing her lips, she decided to close her eyes once again to force herself to sleep even with a churning tummy.

she pouts softly.

7:00 PM.

seokjin peeks into the bedroom to see if she's awake, afraid to see if she'll move and face him. she didn't, so she must've been in deep slumber. sighing softly, the young man carefully took off his tie, setting it aside on the night stand before sinking on the edge of the bed to watch her.

she was snoring softly while clutching on his favorite plushie.

"really won't talk to me, huh." seokjin whispers, gently brushing the strands of hair framing her face before kissing her forehead. "i guess i'll just eat alone then." he whispers to himself, deciding to dim the lights in the bedroom before pulling his pillow to frame her body, in order to avoid her from falling.

with a heavy sigh, he left the bedroom with silence.

9:00 PM.

byulyi was awaken by small whispers, frowning as she cracks her eyes open as she turns around to see seokjin falling asleep with the remote in his hand, with the movie playing silently on the television in their bedroom.

she couldn't even hear the conversation!

she shook her head, yawning softly as she hears her stomach grumbling.

she haven't eaten yet.

pouting softly, byulyi took a good look in his face to check if he's already asleep. and- yeah, he already is. smiling weakly, she took the remote from his hand to finally turn the television off, chuckling to herself about how absurd it looks for him to watch a movie without hearing the conversation properly.

tip-toeing in the bathroom, she was surprised to see the fog near the shower room, squinting her eyes as she saw her pajama set in the dry wastafel, with her tooth brush prepared on the cup with tooth paste. astonished, she realizes that jin had prepared all of this while she's asleep knowing that she haven't washed up yet.

it was the small things.

and she could only smile and shake her head, deeply sighing as she closes the door to take a fresh bath that he prepared for her.

but she's still hungry.

10:00 PM.

she's already wearing the set that he had prepared, surprised to see a portion of the food left on the counter for her.

her irritation towards their argument earlier immediately melted, making her realize that after all of their continuous fights back then, they are like this. a grin escaped her lips, knowing that their care towards each other was the way to reconciliation.

it was always the small things that makes them up, and she's thankful for him.

then it came to her mind that whenever they fight, they'd still leave a space for each other in bed, they'd still prepare food even if they don't eat together, and they even prepare the clothes that they would wear for the next day.

she can still remember their first fight when seokjin cried after seeing her preparing his coat while he's washing up. and now he had done the same, but it only makes her smile at how adorable and thoughtful he is even if they're angry towards each other.

silently stirring the noodles that she was heating up on the pot, she smiles to herself realizing that she's lucky to have him in all times. in exchange, byulyi left him a glass of cold tea in the night stand, since he always drinks it whenever he's waking up in the middle of the night.

she sips on the soup, sighing in contentment.

he brought it from her favorite noodle store.

interrupted by the sound of a foot landing on the floor, byulyi turns off the stove as she looks towards the bedroom, eyes widen towards jin who was awake, already drunken half of the tea she left for him.

and without any say or introductory words, they both smiled at each other as he approached her first, placing the glass on the counter before reaching out towards byulyi, immediately holding her cheek with his one hand as he kisses her gently.

she smiled through the kiss, as he mumbles lovingly. "i'm sorry."

"i'm sorry too." byulyi murmurs, leaving another quick kiss on his lips. "i was really stressed-out, i thought something bad happened to you." she explains, pulling away from the kiss as he chuckled. "i know, i forgot to tell you about it." he clicks his tongue, now pursing his lips as he watched her prepare the food that he left for her, sitting on the chair near the counter.

"you should tell me where you're heading next time, away from the city is dangerous when you're alone and an idol." byulyi frowns, her lips now puckered as she scolds him. he couldn't help but now laugh at their argument, whispering. "i didn't drink after the fight." he confessed, watching her stuff her cheeks while she eats.

"now i know how to stop you from drinking at the most absurd times."

"yah..." he whines softly, making her chuckle.

stopping from munching, byulyi could only look at him and wonder how she have gotten so lucky to have someone like him. maybe it was the blessing from her traumatic heartbreak that lasted for more than five years, or maybe she's just that lucky in life.

but with jin thinking it all through, she just deserves all of his love because of how lovely she is.

with the comfortable silence finally sitting in, byulyi couldn't help but chuckle softly, shaking her head. "why are you laughing?"

"we always fight like this." byulyi realizes, looking at him. "you tired of it?" he asks in concern, as she shook her head with a smile. "thank you for keeping up with me." byulyi murmurs, standing up from her seat to give him another sweet kiss.

he chuckles, muttering. "i love you." he then embraces her.

"i'll never get tired of this, too."

maybe feisty relationships can work out when you finally see the small things and breakthroughs of the painful negativity.
