Why am I like this? (ON HIATUS)

Chapter 1

Author's POV

It was Sunday, Hope's first day here. She didn't know anyone except her best friend Lydia who was the one who told her about this camp and a boy named Shawn who came from her church. They arrived together in he same car because Lydia's mom had driven them. The two girls got out of the car and waited patiently for Lydia's mom to finish with their registration. While they waited the two girls sat awkwardly in silence. "Don't you know anyone here from last year?" Hope asked Lydia. "Of course I do." "Then why aren't you catching up with any of them?" Hope said. "Well if you didn't already know I'm kinda socially awkward so..." Lydia responded. "Oh ok" Hope said. .......... *Back to the awkward silence* Hope thought. *why can't Lydia just introduce me to some people????* She looked around and saw everyone laughing and hugging each other and talking with each other nonstop because they haven't seen each other in a whole year. Everyone seemed so excited and then there was Hope and Lydia just waiting in silence.

Lydia's mom finally finished registration and we came over to her to say goodbye to her, Lydia's older brother and sister and Lydia's older sister's friend. We waved them goodbye and waited yet again. Then we were greeted by some camp counselors who Lydia has known for a long time. Lydia hugged and talked to the counselors. Then the counselors saw Hope waiting there so they asked her what her name was. "What's your name?" One of the counselors asked. "M..My name is Hope" she stuttered. "That's a really nice name. Oh I'm Tim by the way. Nice to meet you." He said as he shook her hand. "First year?" A girl counselor asked. "Yeah..." Hope responded. "Don't be nervous, you'll soon be accustomed with all our traditions here at Camp PFC. Oh and I'm Tina by the way." She smiled.

It seemed like forever until the camp director said for all of us to head to the chapel because he had some announcements to make. We all groaned because there was a hill you had to climb in order to get to the chapel.

Hope's POV

When we finally got there everyone seemed to already have friends to sit with, so since I didn't know anyone else besides Lydia, we sat next to each other waiting for the announcements to start. The seats were split into two sides, one for the boys to sit in and the other for the girls. Shawn was obviously sitting in the boys' side but I felt bad for him because this was his first year here also and he didn't have anyone that he knew.

The director started by welcoming everyone. "Well I welcome everyone back to another fun year of camp, and o see we have some first-timers here." He made eye contact with me. "My name is Donny for those of you who don't know me." He talked for a very long time. "Are you guys ready for another fun week of camp?!?" He shouted. "WOOHOO!!!!!!" Everyone cheered. "Now lets watch a video to kick off CAMP PFC 2K14!!!!!" It was a video of last year's camp. Everyone was so joyful. The video ended and the director started to talk again. He talked about what the plan was for today. "Well everyone is going to go back to where the cabins are and gather your stuff. Then you guys will go to your designated cabin along with your cabinmates that will soon be announced." Everyone waited patiently to hear their cabin and cabinmates.

He announced the youngest cabins first. He called the counselor for the youngest boys cabin and called up the boys assigned to that cabin. (The people assigned to each cabin is determined by age) "The youngest boys cabin will be called SINAI!!!!! And since some people couldn't make it today, there will be boys coming late tomorrow night so there will be more boys in your cabin." Everyone cheered.

Next up were the youngest girls cabin. "The youngest girls cabin will be called... Drum roll please!" Everyone obliged. *drum roll* "... JUBILEE!!!" He said with excitement. "Again same goes with you girls, there will be late arrivals tomorrow night." Again everyone cheered as they exited to go to their cabin.

Next up was the second to youngest boys cabin. I was excited because maybe I'll find cute boys my age. "The name of this cabin will be called... JORDAN!!!!" I was surprised that there were some cute boys. Cheers were heard. "Same applies to your cabin also, late arrivals tomorrow night." *Maybe there will be some more cute boys tomorrow.* I thought. And one of the guys actually looked at me and smiled and I thought as I blushed uncontrollably. *Damn your really cute*

Next up was the second younhest girls cabin. He called up the counselor. "Jaimie is your counselor. Irene, Christine Kwak, Christine Kim, Ruby, Connie, Joanna, Leah, Lydia and last but not least Hope. This cabin will be called... EDEN!!!!" The girls cheered as they were being called up and talking excitedly. "You guys actually have a full cabin so you guys may go." We went to our cabin and found everyone's luggage all over in a big pile. We got all our thing and went into the cabin. Who knows what kind of crazy things could happen during my week here.

(A/N- Sorry this is a really long chapter. But will Hope approach the guy who looked at her, or will she find other cute guys tomorrow night? I hope you guys enjoyed it and I will try to update soon. That is if I even get any reads.)
