"Brownstar, I wish to talk to you," Frostleaf mewed respectfully. Brownstar rose to his paws and asked, "What is it then?"

"StarClan has sent me on a mission," she replied. He nodded slowly. "Nightstar has told me," he explained. "You may go and complete the quest StarClan laid down for you."

"Thank you, Brownstar," she mewed.

"I will announce it to the clan," he mewed, padding out of his den. When he summoned the clan, he began to speak, "Frostleaf is sent by StarClan for a quest, and will be away from the clan for a long time. She will return to the clan as soon as possible, so don't worry. For the time being, the duty of a deputy will be shared with the senior warriors."

Frostleaf went to the nursery first where the kits begged to come with her. Goldenfeather shook her head. "Kits can't leave camp," she reminded them.

She turned to her old friend and mewed, "Care take of yourself in your journey. You should go ask Stagwind for traveling herbs. I will miss you." Frostleaf nodded as Honeykit pounced onto her.

"Don't go! I want you to be my mentor! What if you are gone for so long that I become an apprentice and get a different mentor?" she protested, fixing her amber eyes on her.

"You only want Frostleaf as your mentor because she's deputy," Rockkit snorted. Honeykit shook her head. "No!"

With a sigh, Goldenfeather gathered her kits with her tail. "Firstly, Rockkit, you shouldn't be so rude to your littermate. There's nothing wrong with Honeykit wanting a deputy as her mentor. Now say goodbye to her, and you are expected to be more well behaved."

Rockkit pouted as Honeykit and Sunkit mewed goodbyes to Frostleaf.

Frostleaf headed to the medicine cat den next, where Stagwind looked like she was expecting her.

"Here are the traveling herbs," she said quickly. "Be careful in your journey. Don't forget to check yourself for any cuts and remember to collect cobwebs for open wounds. Dock for your cuts on your paw."

"I will be careful," Frostleaf promised, licking up the bitter tasting herbs.

She nearly crashed into Specklebreeze when she walked out. "Come back safely," Specklebreeze mewed. "I want my kits to see you, and learn."

"I will," Frostleaf promised, although she wasn't sure that she could fulfill the promise. She touched noses with Specklebreeze before padding towards the camp entrance.

Before she could exit the camp, a yowl stopped her. Patchheart was running towards her, and when he reached, he was panting heavily.

"Come back soon and safe," he mewed with concern. "Remember to find shelter for the night.

Frostleaf nodded, wondering why Patchheart was so worried about her. "Good bye!" he yowled as she headed towards the sun, into unknown territory.

~~~~
Frostleaf walked at a steady pace, so that she wouldn't tire herself out on the beginning of the journey.
She could only wonder how long she would take to find DragonClan, and walk all the way back. She was so distracted that she didn't notice a white dog near her.
Frostleaf crashed right into the dog, tumbling backwards when she noticed the dog. "Don't come closer to me," she warned.
The dog grinned and started laughing. She felt insulted and shouted, "What's so funny?" Little did she expect the dog to reply in cat speak.
"Nothing," the dog said. "Don't look so shocked. I know how to speak cat and I will not attack or eat you."
Frostleaf calmed down and asked curiously, "Do you know how to go to a place near the sun drown place faster?"
"Yes, I do," the dog barked. "But let me introduce myself first. My name is En-...I mean Redere. I believe that you want to go to the lake, and luckily, you can fetch a ride on a Twoleg's monster."
"What?" she asked in shock.
"I'm not kidding. Go to the Twolegplace and look for a kittypet called Feather. Her Twolegs will be heading to the lake very soon. I advice you to hurry," Redere said.
"Thanks," she replied with a curt nod and rushed to the Twolegplace.
When Frostleaf came into Twolegplace, a tom stepped in front of her, hissing aggressively.
"Go back to the forest you come from, forest cat," he snarled. "Or else I will leave a mark on you."
Before she could gave a sharp retort, a white cat jumped down from the fence. She talked to the brown tom for a moment and turned to Frostleaf.
"Why are you here?" she asked. "I was told to find a kittypet called Feather..." she replied, "wait, are you Feather?"
The white she-cat nodded. "That's Max by the way. He's a bit touchy about the clan cats. Why did you come here?"
"I need to go to the lake, and someone told me that your Twolegs will be going there," Frostleaf replied.
"Yes, and my housefolk will be heading to the lake on their car, or monster, whatever you clan cats call them. Since you are the only polite cat I have met so far, I will do you a favour and convince my housefolk," Feather mewed.
Max gave her a glare before she followed Feather towards a monster. It had a shiny silver 'pelt' on it and the glass looked cleaned.
"They will be bringing me to the lake with them. I will tell my housefolk that you are my friend that I would like to bring with me. By the way, what's your name?" Feather explained.
"Frostleaf," she replied.
"Come and quickly jump up into the car," she instructed. "Sit on the back seat, which is that black fluffy thing there."
Frostleaf nodded as did as the kittypet said. Suddenly, a Twoleg came in the monster and looked at her. She tried to purr to convince it that she was a friendly kittypet, not a fierce clan cat, although she is not wearing a collar.
The Twoleg patted her and turned to the front. Feather sat next to her. "My housefolk is so nice," she mewed, trying to start a conversation. "The other housefolk would cage up cats if that are going to be in their cars. Oh, and you should get some sleep. You will need the energy for tomorrow."
"Sure," Frostleaf mewed, cuddling on the seat to sleep.
