Keonhee never knew his life would lead to this—Er— He never wanted his life to be this way. You see, he had a little— when I say little, I mean HUMONGOUS— crush on a guy. His name was Kim Gunhak, also known as Leedo. He was a popular university-level basketball player in all of Korea, so obviously that meant the boy was fairly well known throughout their University. And by some stroke of luck, he and Leedo has been friends. For quite some time as well. You see, they had met in their first year of university and became quick friends. Now that was before Leedo had joined basketball— But definitely not before Keonhee caught feelings.
Even now, in their third year of university, Keonhee still clings to his "crush" on Leedo. He hadn't planned to stop either, until 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 day...
It had been a fairly normal university day so far, Keonhee has his morning classes then went back to his dorm. What he wasn't expecting was to get a short little text from Leedo, telling him to meet the other at a little coffee shop they always went too. Not to mention, Leedo said he had a surprise.
It made Keonhee snort, shaking his head as he only texted back a "okay" to show he had seen it. He couldn't help but feel his heart race at the thought of being with Leedo—
Ahem— On another note, Keonhee had instantly gotten up and scurry through his closet for clothes. He eventually settled down for a simple look which consisted of a white shirt tucked in to his blue skinny jeans. It was basic, but he needed to DASH—
" OH SHOOT! I HAVE TO BE THERE IN FIVE MINUTES! " Keonhee yells to himself when he checks the time. He grabs his phone and keys, along with his wallet. He slides on his white vans quickly, then runs out of his apartment and makes a dash for the coffee shop.
Keonhee is lucky he only lives a few blocks away from the coffee shop. He made it there in nearly two minutes flat- That's not the point though— He walked inside after catching his breath, his eyes searching for Leedo. He eventually spots Leedo's blue head of hair, which makes him bound over that direction instantly. Though, as he came close enough, he saw the peek of someone else's hair. It was a pretty light purple, almost lavender, and from the looks of it, it was probably a guy.
Keonhee shook his head though, shaking off any extra thoughts before he makes his way in to Leedo and the stranger's view.
" Keonhee! Finally, I was nervous you wouldn't be here on time, like usual. " Leedo says with a teasing smile. It makes Keonhee stock his tongue out at the other, taking a seat across from Leedo and the stranger, whom looks very uncomfortable.
" Maybe you were just here too early. Who's your friend? " Keonhee asks, his eyes glancing over at the lavender-headed boy again. The boy seems to shy away from Keonhee's gaze, so Keonhee gives a reassuring smile to show he means no harm,
" Well...this is the surprise. This is Dongju, or Xion as he likes to be called...He's my boyfriend. " Leedo says with a weary smile. The world freezes for Keonhee. Did he hear right? Boyfriend? Boyfriend...
They word "boyfriend" repeated in Keonhee's mind like a broken radio. The sudden confession felt like Leedo had just shattered part of Keonhee's glass heart. Keonhee tried his best to smile though, his eyes turning upwards a bit as he started to clap softly,
" Oh, really? Congratulations! Well Xion, i'm Keonhee, Leedo's friend. " Keonhee introduces, turning to the smaller boy and holding a hand out. Xion looked from Keonhee to Leedo, then back to Keonhee. His gaze lingered on Keonhee's hand before he hesitantly reaches out and shakes his hand.
" Y-Yeah...It's nice to meet you too...Leedo has told me about you a bit. " He says, giving a small smile. Keonhee raises an eyebrow at that, the pain in his heart only deepening,
" Oh really? All good things I hope. " he says, adding a bubbly laugh to make it seem he is still his "bubbly" self. By the way Leedo and Xion looks, they believe it.
" Ah, yes. He told me you were uh..very tall and loud. " Xion says, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. It makes Keonhee pout, looking at Leedo and kicking his shins under the table.
" I'm not THAT loud— "
" Do you hear how loud you are Keon? " Leedo retaliates with. It makes Keonhee roll his eyes in annoyance, er— fake annoyance. He truly can only say that deep down, he wanted to cry. His chest felt heavy with grief, and what was most likely jealousy. He needed to get out of here, he doesn't know how much longer he can act all happy.
He pulls out his phone, acting like someone had texted him. He clicked his tongue a bit, shaking his head as he gives a fake disappointed sigh,
" I hate to cut this so short, but it seems one of my teachers just moved the due date for an essay of mine. " Keonhee states "sadly" as he pulls his phone back down. Leedo frowns almost instantly, raising a brow at Keonhee,
" Mrs. Xu moved the due date up? " Leedo asks as he goes to reach for his phone. Keonhee mentally panics, but keeps his cool as he sighs again,
" For my class yeah, she doesn't exactly like us. Anyways though, i'll catch you later Leedo. It was nice meeting you Xion, and again, congrats! " Keonhee spits out quickly, standing up and walking out of the coffee shop fast.
He completely ignores the way Leedo had said his name before he ran away, opting to run away rather than hurt himself any further. Once he was finally far enough away, which meant he was almost home, he felt the need to cry again. His chest felt like it was being weighed down, and his eyes burned with the desire to let all his frustrations out.
He shut his eyes tightly, keeping his eyes down on the empty sidewalk. He could feel tears push out from his eyes, but what he didn't expect was to hear a soft bell-like jingle when the first tear fell. His eyes opened immediately, tears starting to fall faster. With every tear, a soft sound like earlier came with it. He reached up, touching his face then wiping some of the tears on his finger. When he pulled his hand back to look at it, his tears were sparkling. Not like a normal water type sparkle, it was like microscopic yellow sparkles found it's way in to his tears.
The tears seemed endless as they rolled down his face with no sign of stopping. However, he failed to notice how the yellow in his world seemed to drain away with every single tear that hit the pavement.
When the tears DID finally stop though, he finally drew his attention away from the tears. He looked up at the sky, straight at the sun. The sun wasn't it's normal glowing yellow anymore though, it was a pale gray that stood out against the blue sky.
" W-What the... " Keonhee mumbled in fear. His feet had been in the same spot since he started crying, but now that he stopped, he felt the need to run stronger than ever. He instantly dashed off towards his apartment, which was already in sight.
When he did reach his apartment, the once bright yellow door seemed to be a pale shade of gray as well, which made Keonhee panic even more. Then when he went inside, every piece of yellow, or a variation of yellow was gray.
What the hell?...
