Defense Opening Statement 

"Welcome to Cali and let's all pray that a native of Cali gets a fair trial without prejudice. Also let's take a moment of silence to remember our fallen hero. ( moment of silence )... Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. This will be my client Laura N. N. Lobel's day in court in front of her peers. We have been giving full instructions by our honorable Judge Milan Barkums Sr. He has also instructed you the jury to listen and take notes. Not to confer with one anotha. To know that a soul's life lies right here in the palm of your hands. Dirty or clean. Everything said here for the next six months hopefully in less time than that. My client pleads innocent. It's your job to listen to all the facts. We know the state of California had to go out of the state. This is a very high profile case. Some are calling it a crime of passion. Something's we are not allowed to hear or see because as your heard the honorable Judge just say, this case has been sealed. You see the files stacked high. On the other hand somebody wants to see an innocent soul crucified. Let's realize one thing. I lost a high profile case in nineteen ninety four in June on the 12th. A woman and her lover were slaughtered right in her front yard. Blood everywhere. I lost that case because it was really too many women on that jury pool. Yet, again I'm looking at the women out number the men right here. Right now. 

We are about to hear a lot of testimony or testimonies about crime of passion. We will hear my client testify to the fact her and Ermias were indeed broken up. They had been for some time right after that fight he had on her birthday December 5 2019. In just three months he was no longer amongst us. Strangely enough he still was around his first baby Moma. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury the reason she was summons is because she too had a motive for wanting Ermias off this earth. So take a good look at her. Sitting right over there right next to his baby sis. You will hear their names when time comes for them to testify. Listen to her questions and answers because we want a fair and impartial hearing. Let's don't show favoritism. Let's remember the good in his name. Sent by God or God will rise. 

I want to also address his own record label that these talented songwriters and known Rappers built together. They too are here because some have been called 'rats' So not fair. After Ermias untimely demise, my client fount comfy in the manager of All $ In and No Money Out. Not to mention no names but The a Marathon Continues. My client actually started that LLC. Yet she was dogged in the media as being a Gold-digger? Far from it your honor. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury. She is a talented actress who Ermias admitted that she was cute. They met and yes by than he had a precious daughter age five at the time. Her son age four at the time. Later, added their own. Now three. Bare in mine that all three children are in the witness protection program. Rather than fight over who gets custody, they all agreed to let the children have a delightful childhood. Nobody sends to be sending anybody's mommy to prison. 

Let's talk about facts shall we? 

Ermias was taken advantage of and he treated everybody with respect. He had to have wanted something much bigger than he going alone to get rich quick schemes. Jealousy eats away at you or I like cancer. No telling when he finally realized that he was completely surrounded by snakes. Yet, he treated everyone the way he would have loved to been treated in return. The music business has become scandalous. Here today... Gone today. Not around long enough to enjoy your riches before somebody has come snuffed you out. Taking away everything you had nailed down. Please take a good look at Laura. Here on trial for either two reasons. A crime of passion or cold blooded murder, but she was denied bail and assaulted during interrogation. I told her I would not fail to mention that. Let's hope by the end this travesty that her assaulter will be cuffed and jail before that nookie can escape. More facts ! 

Laura lost a true friend. Let's forget about being lovers. She lost a true friend. If she was capable of shooting Ermias in colded murder, somebody sure went out of their way to make it look that way. You all came from New York but it's was in the newspaper that so called murder weapon is in the property room right now. We are hearing about a lot of Mexicans involved in this unsolved murder or assassination. That murder weapon could fit in the palm of a tiny female's hand. There are three females in here. Please keep your eyes on just two. That's all you need to know. Watch their body languages. Their facial expressions. How they taking notes and do let the bailiffs know if you see anybody female or male in here texting in the courtroom. Dead giveaway somebody is snitching. 

Let's talk about evidence. 

Laura and Ermias had broken up when their baby son had just turnt three months old. He announced on social media they would continue to raise their son as a family and move on. Somehow they managed to become good friends again. Somebody else hated the fact they needed to have dome quality time with Ermias. Let's hope the jury you the jury will make a note of that. That sent a clear message that we are dealing with a psycho pathetical liar. Unless they really wanted to drawn attention away from themselves.  

Every 31st his son has to realize his daddy was gunned down in the streets. Only real gangsters think like that. Not a crime of passion, but mentally ill and needs to be sent away to a shrink for a long long time. Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury you got your work cut out for you. A lot of snakes got away with murder that faithful day. On a Sunday for Heaven sakes they knew his name was Biblical. Yet, they planned his murder on the Lord's Day. This ladies and gentlemen was the work of Satan himself. Even two baby Mommas could not put their heads together and come up with the 31st twice. This a hit by the government at a high rank. Holding military training to drown out the sound as snipers hit their mark and harmed Ermias as he laid on a cold concrete and nobody there to come to help? They did Christ Jesus even worse. The work of devil worshippers. Brainwashed and threatened and them theirselves in harms way.

All his millions are right here in this courthouse. Not a dime released to his children. Said money was made as a drug dealer? Are you kidding me? He himself was a famous actor and he himself own fourteen businesses. He himself was self taught. Ermias killed off his character by keeping it real. Nobody stays a Rapper for life. Yet, he had everything to live for. He did not need a woman or a wife to define him. He was married to his music. He put those lyrics in a song. Went gold and platinum.
