I couldn't believe that I snuck out and was in the same room as Meya and Grae, two of the people I hoped to never see again. We all just sat there in awkward silence as I glared at the two.
"Caleb-"
"I know you're Lil Witch, Grae is Dagger and that Kitsun is ... him. Also, I won't tell anybody as long as you leave my name out of all of this," I said cutting off the girl.
"Well that's great and all but we wanted to talk to you about something else," Grae said while putting a hand on Meya's shoulder to calm her down.
"Too bad, I don't want to talk about anything else with you guys."
"Look, okay what the fuck happened? Sure we used to fight and all but this is something different," Meya said getting frustrated, "What made you such a dick?"
"What do you care? All you ever did was tell me how stupid or lazy I was, saying things like I'm not mature or dependable."
"C-Caleb calm down". Will stood in front of me and tried to calm me down.
"No! I'm not just taking that. When someone was threatening you online who did you go to? Me! What's worse you act like racism isn't a thing!" I was losing control as I felt my frustration boil within me, "You're nothing but a self-centered little-".
Suddenly, I was cut off by Will's door opening. A white male with two brown wolf ears on top of his head and a tail entered wearing purple pajamas. His yellow eyes seemed to glow in the darkness he was standing in as he brushed sloppy brown hair back with his hands.
"Hey, keep it down, I've got a test tomorrow and I need all the study time and sleep I can get!" The man shouted annoyed as he sniffed the air. I froze in fear as his eyes locked with mine for no more than a second, but the look in them said it all. He could tell I was a wolf.
"Sorry Jake, it won't happen again?" Will said with a smile as he scratched the back of his head.scratched the back
"It's no problem ... just keep it down." He groaned as he walked out of the room.
"Great, You got us in trouble again."
"Shut the fuck up before you end up getting fucked up."
"I wish you would, I really do," Meya responded with an attitude as she was about to get up, that is until Grae whispered something calming into her ear as she started taking deep breaths as she calmed down.
"Thanks, Grae," she said as the two looked at each other with this almost disgusting appearance in their eyes as though they couldn't be better than they are together.
"Oh," I said as pure disgust started to churn my stomach, "so that's what's going on," The two of them looked at each other confused, "Hey, Will, where's your bathroom, I need to puke." Both Meya and Grae looked at me slightly offended.
"The door on the left, outside my door," he said as I got up and left the room. When I closed the door behind me Jake was standing in the hallway, silently. The two of us stood there like that for about a minute.
"We need to talk," he said, "come to my room when you're done," He said as he walked through a door on the other side of the hallway. After I had handled my business I walked into the room he had entered only to find what could only be described as ... a complete mess. Clothes covering the floor around an unmade bed and a desk covered in paper as Jake sat at it typing away.
"So, I'm guessing you know," I said as he stopped typing and sighed.
"I knew there was at least one other wolf in the area when we moved in. My sense of smell is much better than Wills so it was obvious," he said, "I also know that you've saved Will more than once already, thanks." He said seeming to be genuinely grateful.
"It was nothing," I said still tense and emotionless, "so then I'm guessing you're Wills' current legal guardian."
"Well, aren't you observant. Yeah, I decided to raise a teenager until he could remember his past and real name. I'll admit it hasn't been easy. Especially, while I'm trying to get my Master's degree," he scratched the back of his head as he struggled to stay awake, "However, I can tell that you don't turn much, huh?"
"Oh, really how so?" I asked curious about a way I could try to stay hidden for a longer time.
"Simple even when relaxed you don't let you're ears or tail out," he said with a strange warmth as if he was about to lecture me as some sort of role model even though we had just met.
"And now you're going to try and get me to join your pack and tell me that I should embrace this 'blessing' or something right?. Well sorry to bust your bubble but I'm not interested."
"Actually, I was going to tell you that what you're doing, not turn, isn't healthy," his eyes suddenly got serious, "The longer you go without turning the more ... pent up you get," I gave him a disgusted look, "I'm tired, okay, look the longer you go without turning the more difficult it is to turn both ways. Once you get to a certain point you'll lose the ability to transform on your own and from then you'll be a monster. You will lose control every full moon, attacking and eating every living thing you see".
"Okay, but how do you know this?"
"I'm studying to be a psychiatrist who specializes in the mental health of werewolves, plus, I've seen it happen before". All I could do was sigh at what the college student in pajamas had said.
"Please, the last thing I want to see is another one of us get put down."
"Okay, so let's say I actually take your advice and start turning just often enough that my chances of losing control decrease or don't get any higher. Where am I supposed to turn, at home? Sorry, but my parents would kill me if they found out what I was," unfortunately I wasn't being dramatic either.
"Well, why don't you come here then, I can help you turn and teach you to get better control over it as well," he was starting to sound like a teacher saying I needed extra help in their class.
"Fine, I'll think about it but I am NOT promising anything," he seemed somewhat relieved at my response.
"That's all I'm asking, for now, you should go home before it gets too late," I nodded and started back to Wills room, "by the way what's your name?"
"Caleb Asomen". I said before walking back to Wills' room as the couple glared at me and I glared back while walking to the window.
"Later assholes," I said as I flipped them off, "oh ... and Will too, I guess," I smirked as I then left out the same way I came in, the window. Even as I felt Meya hit me in my but with a rock.
