Chapter 11

•Madeline's pov •

I was right. He was gonna leave even before we graduated. He left me his purple hoodie. He even left me his bandana and one of his favorite books.

He left a couple weeks after Marco got out of the hospital. 

It is now Feburary and I am stuck thinking about him. I sit in a chair in his old room looking out the window. I think about the time he got drunk and jumped off of the roof of the shed into the pool. I laugh lowly to myself.

He left without even telling me. I have cried so much since he left that I have no tears left to cry.

He wanted me to get over him if he ever left but I don't know if I am. "Mads, come eat dinner." My mom calls me down.

I sigh and stand up. I go downstairs and sit at the dinning room table. There were guests coming over and I hadn't even bothered to look nice.

The door bell rings. "Can you get that?" My mother asks me.

"Why not?" I ask her and then I fo and open the door. It was the Adams. I didn't bother smiling. I let them in the house.

A boy walks in behind them. He had dirty blonde hair, emerald green eyes, freckles. His hair was long but not as long as - stop thinking about him.

He smiles at me and I give him fake smile and I shut the door behind them.

We all sit at the dinning room table eating. "What year are you?" Mrs. Adams asks.

I look at her and smile. "Sophomore." I say.

"My Johnny here is a Junior." She says.

After dinner I sit at the table while every one is still talking. All I can think about is Alex.

He's always there invading my mind. I wish he was here. A lot of has happened over the last couple months. Starting with Sophia moving.

Me and Marco still hang out sometimes. There was a knock on the front door that drew me out of my thoughts. I go and answer it. 

I swear to god I am seeing things. I'm going crazy. Maybe i'm dying.

•Alejandro's pov•

I've been in Mexico for the last 4 months. I left after Marco got out of the hospital. I didn't tell Maddie I was leaving. I just left. She knew I was gonna leave anyways.

My mother was still in Sunnyside and it's gonna be Valentine's day in a week so I flew back to Sunnyside to suprise her.

First I wanted to see somebody else though. A person that i've missed more than anything in this world. I knock on the front door and she answers it.

She looks at me like I have three heads. She looks totally different. In an amazing way.

She cut her hair, and she  has on my purple hoodie. Her eyes were dull. Really dull. She looks sad. Not the regular Maddie. The happy, excited, exquisite, too hyper one.

"Hey, Maddie bear." I say and she slams the door in my face. 

"I fucking hate you." I hear her yell through the door.

•Madeline's pov•

Why would he show up here thinking I wanna see him after he left without a word? I hate him so much for hurting me like that.

I went in depression mode and I ended up cutting my hair into a bob cut. I missed him. I lean up against the front door. "Why'd you scream that?" My mother asks. Her and Mrs. adams and everyone else looks at me like I'm crazy.

"I can't- I can't see him. He left. He's here. Why, mommy?" I say. 

"Nonsense." My mother says."Move." 

I move out from in front of the door. "Don't let him in." I tell her. She opens the door.

"Come in Alejandro." My mother says and he walks in the house. He cut his hair. No, his long beautiful hair. His hair was like my baby. My eyes start to water. 

How could he come back unannounced? Alex looks at me. I stare back at him. "Well, who is this?" Mr. Adams asks.

"A-Alex. Why are you here?" I ask.

"I came to see you." He says. He still had the same deep husky voice that I adored and I still do.

"After you left unannounced?" I yell tears flowing down my cheek.

"Madeline Rose Fischer." My mom says sternly.

"Please." Alex says taking a step towards me. He holds out his arms and me being me I step into them and hug him. I've missed this. He wraps his arms around me tightly and I do the same.

"I'm so so so sorry." He says,"i've missed you. A lot. More than anything."

"Are you going back?" I ask him.

"I don't know yet." He says. "Let's just enjoy now and not worry."

"You can't leave me again." I tell him and kiss him. He kisses me back. "I love you."

"I love you too." He says back.
