                                                                       May 1997

The heels on the bottom of Narcissa’s boots clacked as strode purposefully down the cobbled walkway joining Hogsmead and Hogwarts. She knew that she could have simply floo’d through Dumbledore’s office, but she did not want to confront Severus just yet, she had news to discuss with Draco.

Meeting her at the gate, Hagrid kept up a garbled, one sided conversation the whole way to the entrance.

“Thank you for the escort, Hagrid.” Narcissa thanked him with a smile.

“No’ a problem, No’ at all. It t’was my pleas’er really.” He grumbled, giant face turning a bright red.

Narcissa lightly chuckled before saying her good-byes and entering the Entrance Hall.

“Madame Mal-Black.” Blaise greeted, stuttering over the change of name.

“Mr.Zambini it is very nice to see you. Are your parents well?” She asked him politely.

“Indeed. We have had a few unwanted visitors but… My parents know how to take care of themselves.” He answered with a careless shrug, though his eyes belied his satisfaction at the truth of the statement.

Narcissa smirked as well. Knowing Voldemort, he was once again trying to build up his forces, first stop the neutral families. Having gone to school with Blaise’s parents, Narcissa new just how quick their wit and tongue tended to be.  Having found herself on the receiving end of one of his mother’s hexes, she shuddered at the thought.

“Hopefully the visitors were not too incapacitated?” she asked with a wicked grin.

Blaise shrugged with a satisfied look still on his face.

“I wouldn’t say too badly, but you would have to ask them yourself. They were transported to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. They may have healed a bit since then.” He admitted nonchalantly, all the while accompanying her to the Slytherin entrance.

“Poor things.” Narcissa lightly mocked.

“Indeed.” He said, giving a small bow at the entrance, before turning back the way they had come and leaving.

Looking around, she only spotted a handful of first years sitting around the fire.

Walking to the closest one, she asked “Do you know where Draco is at the moment?”

The young first year spun around startled.

Laughing at her silliness, she answered the other woman quickly, “Yes, he is in his room, Seventh Floor boys dorm.”

“Thank you.” She told the girl, before making her way up the stairs.

Knocking thrice in quick succession, she swung open the door and wished she had waited.

“Who the he- Mum?!” he shouted, face red with embaressment.

None of the other boys were in the room, though he was not alone.

On the bed beside him sat a beautiful brunette.

Judging by both of their flushed cheeks and swollen lips it didn’t take a genious to figure out just what she had interrupted.
