Do You...(O.C. Backstory)

A New Start

~Jewel's POV:
I wake up to find myself in a hospital bed, with everyone around me. "Mmm, guys?" They all turned to me and looked both happy and relieved. "Oh thank goodness you're awake!" Ruby exclaimed, rushing over to hug me. I hug back immediately, I was so worried that I had severely hurt any of them. "Are- are you guys, ok?" I asked, starting to cry. "Of course we're ok," Ruby responded, wiping away any tears that fell from my eyes. "B-but, I almost-" "Don't worry about that," someone said. I turned to see Slime standing there all bandaged up. "You don't have to worry about what that person made you do. We knew that if you could've stopped her sooner, you would've." She then walks over to me and gives me a hug. "We're not mad at you Jewel, just worried. We know that you wouldn't hurt us on purpose, so please don't bring yourself down thinking that we wouldn't want to hangout with you anymore or talk to you, cause we still do." I hugged her back tightly, as I start to cry. "Thank you. Thank you all so much," I say while everyone joins in for a group hug. "Of course, Jewel. We'll always be there for you," Ruby reassured, calming me down.

~a few hours later~

~D.J.'s POV:
Well...I guess this is it. I'm going to spend the rest of my life here in this "torture chamber." Well, can't really complain, I had this coming. I was about to close my eyes and think, until I heard the sound of a door opening. I slowly look up to see what it was, and I see...her. Jewel. I quickly look away from her, hoping that she would leave, but she didn't. I hear her walk over and I tense up, afraid of what she was going to do. "Hey," she said, getting on her knees so that we could see each other easier. I slowly look back at her, only to look away once again. "*sigh* Look, I know we got off on the wrong foot, but, I wanna give you another chance." Now, I fully look at her, with confusion and disbelief in my eyes. "Y-you- you can't be serious. After everything I did, after everything I made you do?! Why? Why would you give me a second chance?" I asked her. She then gently hugs me. I look...surprised at her action. "I believe, everyone deserves a second chance. I feel as though everyone can be forgiven, but only if they're willing to turn over new leaf." I- I don't believe it. She actually wants to give me another shot. My eyes start welling with tears as I try to form a sentence. "J- Jewel I-, I don't know what to say," I tell her between tears. She looks back at me and wipes away my tears. "You don't need to say anything, but, I need to know your answer. Are you willing to give up your old life for a new and better one?" she asks while holding out her hand. I take a deep breath, grab her hand, and say, "Yes, I wanna start over." She then smiles. "I was hoping you'd say that." She then starts to free me from the chains that were piercing through my body. I then fall forwards, but luckily, she catches me. "By the way, what's your name?" she asks while healing me. "Umm...m-my parents never, g-gave me one," I said with a hint of embarrassment in my voice. "What?! Well, would it be alright if I gave you a name?" She asked, sounding hopeful. "What did you have in mind?" She thinks for a minute. "Hmm, what about Dark Jewel?" "Uhh, a bit to long." "What about D.J.?" I smile at her. "Sounds perfect." "Great! So from now on, you'll be known as D.J.." I then pull her into a hug. "Thank you for this. You don't understand how happy you've made me. Thank you Jewel, so much," I say while hugging her tighter. She hugs back and strokes my head. "You're welcome D.J.. I want you to know, that I'll always be there for you. I'll help you adjust to everything, and I'm sure Ruby and everyone else will be willing to help you too."

~Jewel's POV:
I bring D.J. out of the room and take her to Ruby. Once we get close, though, she stops in her tracks. "Hm? What's wrong?" I ask, turning to look at her. I-it's just, I'm nervous. What if, they don't want to help? What if they make me go back to that room?" D.J. says, shaking. I walk over to her and give her a reassuring hug. "D.J., it's going to be ok. You've gotta give this a shot. You can't really be sure if you don't try, right?" "W-well, yeah." "So then don't worry. I know Ruby, and she's one of the kindest people I've met," I tell her, trying to calm her down. And luckily, she does. She takes a deep breath and nods. "Ok, I'll try." We then head inside the gym. "Momma!" I call out. She turns to me and has a look of confusion and shock on her face. "What's up Jewel?" she asks. I then walk over to her with D.J. close behind. I take a deep breath, "Momma, I have something I wanna talk to you about. Can you get everyone else too?" "Sure."

"S-so, what do you guys think?" I ask nervously. They all think for a moment. Ruby then smiles at me. "Of course she can stay." "Yeah, and I wouldn't mind if  you adopt her as your sister," Amethyst said. "Yeah, same here," Jake agreed. I then look at my aunties for an answer. Grey Ruby speaks first. "I'll be willing to help in any way I can." "Same here. You're always welcomed to become apart of our family, D.J.!" Black Ruby added. There was just one person who didn't say anything: Tigris. "Tigris, what do you think?" Ruby asked. Tigris then looks at Ruby, then at me, then at D.J., then back at me. She smiles. "You're one of us now, D.J." D.J. and I look at each other with wide smiles. "Thank you guys so much!!" I say. "No problem, and D.J.," Ruby said, "welcome to the family."

~D.J.'s POV:
This...is...amazing. A new start with new people. I guess things do happen for a reason. "Hey, D.J.!!" I heard someone call out. I look down to see my sister Jewel standing there with some of her friends I didn't recognize. "Yeah?" I yell back. "Come down, I got some friends for you to meet!" she responds. "Coming!" I say as I jump down from the roof of the castle and walk over to her.

Me: Umm, I don't think so.
D.J.: Ok....
