A New Beginning- A Hinny Story

VIII

Ginny got released from the hospital 2 days later. With Harry and Ginny in the clearing where Harry proposed.

Third Person POV

Harry was leaned up against a tree with Ginny in between his legs. They sat in silence for a while, enjoying each other's presence.

After awhile Ginny decided to speak up, since she knew she couldn't hide everything.

"Harry?"

"Yes. Gin? What's wrong?" Harry asked, looking down at her in his arms.

"I'm scared of what is going to happen. Those death eaters said they wanted to kill you, for killing Voldemort..."

Harry hugged her tightly. "They aren't going to kill me, Gin. Everything will be okay." He said as he kissed her forehead.

Ginny started to tear up at the thought. "Harry." A tear rolled down Ginny's cheek. "I can't lose you too." She said, thinking of Fred.

"And you never will, I will always be there for you." Harry said to her, not wanting to mention Fred.

Harry wiped her tears and kissed her softly.
"Thank you, Harry, for keeping me safe."

Harry froze. "B-but Gin, those death eaters took you away... T-they tortured you. I didn't keep you safe. Harry looked away from her, his focus out in the distance.

Ginny took his hand. "Harry, look at me."
Harry's eyes met hers. "Nothing those death eaters did was your fault. You saved me from them, you were there by my side when I wasn't even conscious, for six months!"

At this point Harry was now the one tearing up, reliving those memories. "Oh Gin, it was horrible! I didn't know what was happening. I was falling apart without you. I didn't even know if you would survive, Gin."

Ginny was kind of shocked he was so vulnerable, even if he could stand up to Voldemort. She paused before saying, "Harry. I'm here, right here in front of you. That was the past. We are both okay now."

Harry wiped his eyes, and stood up. He helped Ginny up after him. They slowly made their way back to the burrow, hand in hand. Before they walked inside, they put up every protection charm they knew of.

When they got inside, they were greeted by Hermione. "Hey guys!"

"Hey 'Mione! We just put up about 20 protection charms over the burrow." Harry replied.

"Ginny, when should we start planning for the wedding?"

Ginny smiled at her best friend. "Definitely soon."

"Hey Gin?"

"Yeah Harry?"

"Do you want to come with me to visit Teddy?"

"Of course!"

The couple apperated to the Tonks household. Harry gently knocked on the door, in case Teddy was sleeping.

Andromeda Tonks opened the door and smiled at the two. "Hello Harry, Hello Ginny." She greeted.

"Hello Andromeda." They both said.

"I suppose you have come to talk about Teddy, now that you are ready?"

"Yes, that's right." Harry said.

The three of them walked to the sitting room.

Andromeda sat in the armchair and Harry and Ginny sat on the sofa.

"Well... As you two know, I'm getting a bit old to be caring for a baby, but you are quite young, so i'm not sure if you are ready." Andromeda started.

"It wouldn't be a problem for us to raise him. He could come back here on the weekends or something." Harry responded.

"Very well then. You will be Teddy's legal guardians. I can take him on the days when you need a break, but otherwise he is now your child to care for." Andromeda stated.

Ginny strand up from her seat and rushed into the other room and Harry smiled at her excitement. Harry followed her into Teddy Lupin's room.

There was one-year-old Teddy. He was sleeping in his bed, still a crib. He had bright blue hair sticking up in all directions. Ginny smiled at Harry as she tore her eyes away from the little being.

Harry picked Teddy up, and he began to wake up. Teddy looked confused at them and then fell asleep on Harry's shoulder.

Ginny smiled at Harry and Teddy. She grabbed all of Teddy's stuff, which wasn't a lot, and they apperated home to the burrow.
