Rose's POV

"As a child, the first words your soulmate says to you will appear on your wrist!" A student raised her hand.

"Hey babe!"

"Wouldn't it be easy to tell someone you're their soulmate?" The student asked.

"Jen, baby! How was your day?" I smiled wide.

"Now now children, fate will always win over us. Besides, it would be very rude to trick someone like that!" The teacher smiled gently.

"It was good, how about yours?" She returned my smile.

"Just fine, better now that you're here." I winked playfully.

Jen's face visibly reddened. I laughed, wrapping my arm around her shoulders as we conversed. We are a normal couple, 'soulmates' bound by fate.

Soulmates are just a load of bull, why should they determine who loves who? My sweet Jen, hypnotized by society. She still believes only soulmates can love each other, I'm glad I got to her before them.

She's too pure for anyone, even me. I love her deeply, her 'soulmate' can go fuck themself.

"Hanson found his soulmate today! Apparently the new girl and him are childhood friends. Such a cliché, but so cute!" Jen rambled.

I smiled wide, nodding. She deserved all of my attention, but that proved to be my downfall. My love ran straight into a taller girl, who turned around.

"Ah! I'm sorry miss." Jen exclaimed.

"Quite alright, sorry to disturb you and your friend." The girl said.

'SHIT! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT NO! SHE CAN'T KNOW SHE CAN'T! SHE'S MINE I CAN'T LET HER GO!' I panicked and just nodded, dragging Jen away before she could do anything.

For the rest of our date I distracted her and made sure she never once looked at her wrist. It ended up being for nothing.

Jenny's POV

I flopped lazily onto my bed. What a day! I can't believe my date ended so quickly.

That girl we ran into, she said something awfully familiar.

I got up to change into pajamas, and felt my heart stop when I caught a glimpse of my wrist. Written in what looked like black ink were the same words that woman told me.

'But that's crazy! Rose said she said those to me when we were children, it has to be a coincidence. But when I saw that woman, I felt strange...' I ended up brushing it all off.

My soulmate was Rose, I loved her and she loved me. This was just a mere coincidence.
