Sanyu, when will you come to sleep?' asked a sleepy Kaustuki raising her head from under the covers and peeking out. Sanyukta was pacing back and forth across the room with a book in her hand.
Sleep. Those five words sounded so inviting and her tired body wanted to do a long jump and leap onto the bed at its first chance, but her mind sternly forbade it from doing so.
Soon, you go off to sleep' she said quietly, her gaze steadfast on the book in her hand.
Just as if her mind was an Encyclopaedia, the meaning of sleep processed over and over again Sleep is a naturally recurring state characterized by altered consciousness, relatively inhibited sensory activity, and inhibition of nearly all voluntary muscles.
Naturally, sleep was creeping up her eyes but her mind didn't want to let her sleep, because it would mean, the thoughts turned to dreams would come back to torment her. Her waking life was always occupied with the same thoughts, and now the fact that her sub-conscious mind too was being over-powered with the same thoughts.
Never the less she couldn't keep her eyes open a minute longer, thoughts or no thoughts. And just like that she dreamt again.
*Dream*
I know you want it Miss Engineer. Just for how long will you deny it?' he spoke with his trademark smirk. He was wearing a black button down shirt and those jeans that loosely hung around his waist.
She stepped back as he edged closer and closer, till the wall stopped her movement. He placed his hand on the either sides of the white-washed walls of the library, over her head.
I don't' she said trying to be stern although her voice quavered and her breath hitched in her throat. Her heart racing wildly as he brought his face closer. She could smell the strong, manly scent of his cologne that seemed to turn her on even more.
Not even if I do, this?' he asked and dragged her mouth to his, smirking against her bruised lips.
*end
No!' she screamt and woke up with a jolt. It was 6:00 am in the morning and she had been asleep for about 2 hours. The same dream had been tormenting her since the past few days. Randhir Singh Shekhawat was occupying her thoughts all the time. And she felt disgusted at the thought that, she sort of liked it.
The minute she entered class-room, she made a face. BKC was taking their class today. How she hated that pasty face. She wished Vardhan Sir would take their class, but apparently, due to some personal reasons he wasn't.
She smiled as she slipped into the seat beside Kaustuki and Jiggy.
Where were you?' she asked her. The answer to Kaustuki's question never made its way out of her mouth, because Randhir Singh Shekhawat chose to step inside the class, at that instance. Her breathing faltered, as her heart-beat escalated to greater levels. Her eyes almost popped out when she noticed what he was wearing. The same black button down shirt and acid washed blue jeans that hung dangerously around his waist. She could be gawking at him. No, she was gawking at him. His scent tantalized her and made her edgy. For some reason, not only her, but the other girls in class seemed to have sat up too, as they whispered among themselves.
He sauntered into class and took the seat in the row beside her. He looked over at her narrowed his eyes scowling, as if to say, Stop staring'
She realized that she had been when Kaustuki nudged her. She looked back towards the black-board sheepishly. BKC started his lecture in the same monotonous voice of his, half of the people dozed off, in the first fifteen minute of the lecture.
She was bored herself and happened to look around. But her gaze stopped at the 90 degree angle only before it could even begin its 360 degree journey. Randhir was casually propped up, jotting down stuff in his notebook, compared to his partner who was feverishly writing, every word the pasty face said.
She couldn't help but stare at the way his muscled flexed up, whenever he wrote something. The snug fitting black shirt made him look even sexier. The stubble, gosh! She had no idea, when that thing had made him look more Adonis like. It seemed that he got even fitter with every passing day.
She was lost. Completely lost in his thoughts and didn't hear her name being called.
Sanyukta!'
His smirk was annoying yet so alluring. The way he screamt at her and made her heart race with infuriation, maddened her yet turned her on greatly. A day didn't pass without both of them fighting. It had become a pleasing ritual for her. If she didn't fight with him, her day went futile.
Sanyukta Agarwal!'
She could go on staring at him for hours, quite audaciously. His temper, made him hell more hotter. Although his MCP attitude was a problem in his ass.
MISS SANYUKTA AGARWAL!!!!'
The entire name calling drove her back to the present, as she snapped back to reality from Randhir Land.
He was smirking dangerously at her, a smile she caught before, turning to face BKC.
Stand up! Stand up I say' he shouted his face twitching which made the class laugh.
Silence! What is so funny! Shut up all of you'!
Randhir had his full attention on the scene unfolding before him in amusement. Miss Know-It-All day-dreaming in class was something new.
What did I just say'? he asked sternly.
Black shirt' the words escaped her mouth before she could stop herself and she mentally kicked herself for doing so.
The whole class erupted into laughter. Randhir was smiling to himself now.
Miss Engineer would be in so much trouble now.
What?! This is an engineering college Miss Agarwal, not fashion designing institute!' Where is your attention? What were you thinking about!' he said screaming louder than ever.
The laughing stopped but her smart and treacherous mouth spat the words out too soon.
Randhir' she said and then clamped her mouth shut, her eyes widening in horror and embarrassment at what she had said.
Someone hooted. The amused smile vanished from Randhir's face, as he sat up, looking at her.
"what!' BKC screamt.
Sorry!...sorry Sir, I am not well, bye' Sanyukta said grabbing her bag and rushing outside class.
Miss Agarwal, come back here you can't just walk out of class like that!' he screamt his face turning tomato red.
She was mortified as soon as she stepped out of class and turned to glance back at the chaotic class. She didn't expect the next thing. Hell she hadn't even anticipated it. But it happened. Randhir Singh Shekhawat smirked at her, giving her a wink.
And all Sanyukta could do was flee down the corridor after her embarrassing confession.
