"Haaaaaaay!" I exasperated. I just got out of the University Chancellors office and just got the news that I never expected.
I walked towards an open space park near the university. I think I need some comfort food with the news I just learned. Maybe a little something bitter too, just to tone down the sugary atmosphere that I exited from.
Earlier...
I entered the Chancellor's office with a loud pounding in my chest. Never did I ever imagine that I will be called to be here. I mean, I'm not a shabby student. But I'm sure Phana is more exceptional than me. My bestfriend has a high spec computer processor for a brain.
After telling the secretary of my name and purpose, she immediately led me inside. "They are waiting for you."
They? What does she mean by they?
Upon entering, I saw the University Chancellor in the flesh. In front of him were Professor Auntie and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
*gulp!* What the hell is going on?
"Chancellor, Mr. Vongviphan is here." The secretary introduced me.
"Oh! You're finally here!" He stood up and walked towards me. "It's good to finally meet you, Khun Vongviphan."
"Likewise, khun. Please call me Beam. I feel too important if you address me too formally." I smiled and returned his greeting.
"Oh non-sense! You are important! Please come sit down." He shook my hand and led me to the chair right across his table. He returned to his seat right after.
"So where we?" He said as soon as he sat down on his seat.
"You were telling us of a big contribution of the Faculty of Medicine can give for the University's founding anniversary, khun." Our Dean answered.
"Ah yes, yes. It's most opportune that Beam arrived before I can tell you all about it." The chancellor remarked. "Maybe I can ask Beam directly so it will be easier."
Huh? Ask me? I glanced at Professor Auntie then at our Dean. They both have the same puzzled look as I do.
Oh-oh... I have a bad feeling about this.
"Beam..." The chancellor.
"Uh... y-yes khun?" The nerves were killing me. There was something about his tone that tells me he was about to drop a bombshell on me.
"Would you give us the pleasure of being KU's first official Bebot?"
I wasn't able to process was the chancellor just told me. I had a mental block after he asked me a question.
But slowly as my mental faculties receded. My brain exploded.
