The chills going through my body from his touch rock me to my core, and I immediately turn and put my hand on his throat, slamming him against the wall. His eyes widen in a surprised amusement as a smirk adorns his flawless face. My eyes widen in shock at the fact I just slammed the devil against the wall by his throat.

My cheeks burn as I realize how close I am to him. How my stomach and heart flutter as the kiss from before flashes through my mind. Staring into his haunting red eyes, I immediately itch to kiss him again, my body begs me to. My body riots against my mind as Lucifer studies my eyes as if he could see the war going on.

"Thana, if you are going to do something, do it," Lucifer's eyes darken as his words tease me. I clench my jaw, and my hold on his throat tightens, causing the fire in his eyes to grow.

"No," My tone is firm as I take a step back from him while keeping eye contact. He studies me as he pushes himself against the wall and fixes his suit.

He runs a hand through his hair as he watches me. A moment passes between us before he finally speaks, catching me completely off guard. "Thana, why are you not with your former lover?" My eyebrows furrow at his random question. Which former lover, why did he even ask. Did he think that is why I am so hesitant with him?

"Why would you even ask that." I glare harshly as my guard goes up, not sure what Lucifer was playing at. Then Lucifer mirrors my confused expression.

"I've read your past lives; two of your past lovers are angles. Most lovers reconnect in heaven. Why didn't you? You were close to one of them but never got together, and now you have nothing to do with him." Lucifer tilts his head as I see wheels turning as he tries to solve the puzzle himself. Then his eyes widen. "You didn't know, did you?"

"Know what?" I ask cautiously. The feeling of being broken rising in my stomach. What else could I possibly not know?

Lucifer hesitates for a second as if he regrets speaking of it. "Don is Bain form your past life."

My ears seem to ring as emotions cloud my thoughts. Don knew me for half a century; he knew who I was but never told me his past life; he never told me I was his lover. Then after hell and almost a century later, he makes a pathetic move on me. The flames of rage and disgust flicker inside of me, as I quickly turn my back to Lucifer and leave the room. My skin burned as it tried to take in the information, bitterness roared and grew at yet another fucked up detail of my life.

"Thana, wait, where are you going?" Lucifer is hot on my heels and grabs my arm turning me to him.

"I'm going to find Don," I snap, and a frustrated look takes hold of Lucifer's face.

"You still love him?" Lucifer states in complete shock, a hint of betrayal in his voice, causing me to look at him in confusion though my heart skips a beat at his jealousy.

I raise a brow before giving a smirk of my own. "Awe, is the devil jealous of an angel?" I say in a mocking tone causing Lucifer to glare at me.

"Don't even insult me like that," Lucifer scoffs as he crosses his arms over his chest.

I want to laugh at the sassy devil, but my rage burns brighter. I turn from Lucifer without saying a word, and he lets me go.

I arrive at the gates of heaven at the same time Avalyn does. She flashes a smile my way as she walks to me, her large white wings on full display.

"Hi, Thana."

I quickly jump to why I am here, not wanting to waste another moment. "I need to speak to Don," Her eyes widen at the urgency in my voice. "Now."

"Oh," Avalyn states quickly with a nod of her head as her cheeks redden from embarrassment she then quickly rushes through the gates.
