🌕🌕🌕🌕
Monday mornings are a HUGE drag to deal with. I couldn't get much sleep over the weekend from the incoming nightmares and sudden sleepwalk attempts. But more importantly, Daisy and Gambit were 100% lying to me. They kept saying that the wolf dreams were memories that I hadn't been able to process yet, because of how traumatizing the experience was. Of course Daisy would agree and then change the topic of conversation to our volunteer work at the high school.
Larry had warned us ahead of time that the school is filled with awful teens, but the worst ones were the kids that hung out with Lloyd Garmadon. Me being me, ignored his salty remarks against Lloyd or his friends. They welcomed me with open arms without really knowing who I was, and besides, Zane knows who I really am and why I'm here. That kind of information I can't risk letting loose for multiple reasons, so keeping us on good terms is the main plan. He's also a pretty swell dude, I couldn't hate him if I tried.
"Princess, are you ready to go? We have to be at the school in an hour to check in." Daisy said, snapping me out of my thoughts. I hummed and nodded.
"Yeah, I just need to grab the plans from Larry. So we know exactly what we'll be talking about when we're there." I replied before she hummed and went to help Gambit finish packing the zoo's car. I left to go to Larry's office and retrieve the papers. When I approached his office he was on a call that seemed pretty important. I was about to leave him alone when our eyes locked with each other.
"I'll call you back, Jerry. Come in, Y/n." He said while ending his call and gesturing for me to join him. I gnawed on my inner cheek and entered the room.
"Sorry to interrupt your call, but I need those papers for the school today?" I said while pointing to the small packet of plans for this week of my volunteer work. Larry licked his lips and looked me up and down at my attire. The school wanted us to dress nice for when we teach the class. I was lucky enough to bear nice clothing, but unfortunately it earned some sly stares. He shook his head out of his trance and nodded.
"Ah yes, the plans. They are right here for you." He said while licking his teeth and handing me the papers. I felt uneasy and the voice in the back of my head was begging for me to get out.
"Um, thank you, Larry. Have a good day!" I faked my chirpiness. He stood up and walked me out of his office.
"It's always a pleasure to see you, Y/n." He replied with a seductive smirk playing. I sent a weak smile and hasted away. My heels clomping against the floor, getting louder and more aggressive the faster I tried walking away. Okay, that was definitely weird. I really hope that kind of behavior doesn't continue. I finally made it out the front where Daisy, Gambit, and Kacy with Shivers were waiting for me.
"You got the plans???" Gambit shouted from across the lot. I held up the papers to show proof of my possession over them. As I approached, Shivers was reaching his arms out for me to hold him. Kacy obeyed his needs and placed him in my arms. I gave him a tight hug which he eagerly returned with a soft sigh. I chuckled.
"I'll be back later, don't worry." I reassured the white puff ball clinging to me. He made a small whine and nuzzled his face into my chest. Sending chuckles to the rest of us.
"Here I'll take those, we have to leave soon if we want to be on time." Daisy took the papers out of my hands and went to ride shotgun in the car. Gambit climbed in the driver's seat and began starting the car.
"Shivers, you have to let me go. If you don't, I won't come visit you later to play." I warned the baby polar bear. He gave me one last tight hug before reluctantly ripping his paws off of me and latching back onto Kacy.
