Darkness soon started to make the shadows longer and creatures stir to life as I finally found an outcropping of a cliff to set up shelter for the night. I crawled under it and kicked the pale sand around before I manifested a bed and walls so that I could hopefully survive till morning.
"I am never going back" I thought out loud as I plopped myself down onto my bed. No one was going to get hurt anymore and I was going to become a crazy old lady that lived in the forest. A thud outside of my make shift house made me almost have a heart attack and shook me out of my thoughts. I spun around to find Exavier looking at me with his intelligent blue eyes.
"At least someone cares"I mumbled as I got up and scratched his neck. My eyes drifted to the forest outside and my hand trembled as I found hundreds of yellow eyes glinting back at me....watching me. This forest was full of mystical creatures and real ones but all of them were dangerous and I was right in the middle of them. The faint purple glow of Exaviers wings held them off but I wasn't sure how long that would keep them at bay. I drew my sword and edged back to the shelter waiting for something to attack us but nothing did. That didn't satisfy my fear because I knew they were waiting and watching for the moment I made one wrong move and could attack. I called Exavier to follow me and then had him lay down inside with me ignoring the way we were crammed together and had limited space to move around. I sat down on my bed and watched the eyes until my eyes got to heavy and I fell into the world of nightmares and fear.

I woke up with my clothes soaked with sweat and my heart pounding like a scared rabbit running from a fox. All night long my dreams had gotten worse and worse with no reprieve in between. I slid my feet onto the ground ready to get up when I felt something move on my wrist. I looked down right at a black worm that was attached to my wrist and was glowing an unhealthy yellow. A Mind Devil. They had the ability to consume all your good dreams and replace them with nightmares that could kill you or make you crazy if you didn't wake up. I mumbled a curse under my breath and ripped the dumb thing off wincing when blood seeped out of the puncture wounds. I looked at the tattoo on my wrist and noticed it had gotten darker, just as dark as the night sky. The Darklord was getting more powerful but I couldn't bring myself to care. I had lost everything and there was no one left for me to live for. I got up and headed out to find food but as I walked I kept tripping over rocks and roots that were places like puzzle pieces all over my path. Thorns seemed to reach out and grab my dress ripping it even more then it was before and I growled in frustration as I ripped it out of the thorny hands once again. Something cracked under my foot and I looked down to see and stark white bone glaring back at me. I bent down and retrieved it noticing the teeth marks on it and that it was .....human. A human rib bone was in my hand and I let out a shriek as I quickly dropped it. I scanned the dangerous forest before I moved on and I had only walked a couple of feet when a twig snapped behind me. I froze listening for something but it had quit moving. I started to slowly walk again and I could hear it resume it's quick pace behind me. I walked off the path and made a big circle so I would come up behind whatever it was and when I finally reached the path again I wished I hadn't looked. A huge paw print was embedded in the ground and by the looks of it the animal responsible for it was a cat. No sooner had I figured that out I heard a deep growl behind me and as I spun around my terrified eyes landed on a crouching huge black panther. The eyes kept changing colors and a white streak crossed one eye like someone had cut it and left a scar. I slowly backed up keeping my eyes on the panther until the ground I was standing on disappeared right out from under me and I tumbled backwards. The thought of getting my wings out was soon smashed when I tried and the air against my back kept them from unfurling. I glanced out of the corner of my eyes and dark blue icy water greeted me and closed over my head as I crashed into it. I kept sinking down into the inky blue water until the shock of the cold left me and I started to kick my legs to get to the top. I was inches from the surface when something grabbed onto my leg and tried dragging me down. Cold wet fingers dug into my calf muscles and made them start to bleed. If it couldn't get any worse the creature decided blood was tasty and attached itself to the cuts and started to drink my blood like it was some kind of stupid vampire.
"Eww" I thought as I tried to kick it off but it wouldn't let go, it only got tired. I opened my eyes under the water and saw more pale shapes coming toward the smell of blood.
